The Sydney Festival is another humdinger that makes the cityscape come alive. This year's diverse program, which includes free and ticketed events, includes iconic international artists such as Manu Chao, Elvis Costello, Chaka Khan and Brian Wilson. Festival Director Lieven Bertels says what makes the festival special is its diverse programming. "Sydney Festival gives audiences the perfect excuse to celebrate the city in summer with everything from opera, theatre and contemporary dance to circus and family shows," she says.

The Sydney Festival runs from 8 - 26 January, 2015. The full 2015 program will be announced 23 October.

Elvis last played the Festival in 2006. He played four shows, one with the Brodsky Quartet, one with Steve Nieve and two with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He also popped up at a Russell Crowe concert. Let's hope there's no repeat of that next year. The Brodsky's website lists no shows in 2015 yet.

Re: Elvis at the Sydney Festival 2016?
We know Elvis is currently in Sydney, because he recorded a radio interview for the local ABC station and that Diana is playing four nights at the Sydney Opera House (27-30 January).
This article from December 2015 suggested that Elvis would be "in attendance" at the Festival. It would seem like a good opportunity to shift a few more copies of the Memoir.

"2016’s festival includes some big names of its own with Björk, Cate Blanchett, Ralph Fiennes and Elvis Costello in attendance."
Yet the Festival website makes no mention of an appearance this year.... Did Elvis just get there too late?
