guess what folks? my Lord God smiled on me with a freebie for the show. SONY gets a test run. should be a great show. many old friends performing whom i have not seen since the 70's or 80's including: RICHARD BARONE, AZTEC TWO-STEP, FRED SCHNEIDER, AL JARDINE, MARSHALL CRENSHAW, GENE CORNISH, JOHN FORD (Strawbs) and a couple fine names i have never seen before like TOMMY JAMES and MELANIE. i'm VERY psyched as BEATLEMANIA is afire here in NYC this week...just like i remember 50 years ago.

WOW!!! what a night indeed. so many GREAT performances; stellar house band played excellently throughout featuring Rich Pagano on drums, Steve Conte on guitar and Graham Maby on bass!! i need to get the keyboardist name. is this FAB FAUX line-up now? really stellar show at the right price. WAY TOO numerous to mention here, but a few off the top of my head.
RICHARD BARONE: IT'S ONLY LOVE
SIOBHAN MAGNUS: ACROSS THE UNIVERSE
MARSHALL CRENSHAW: IT'S ALL TOO MUCH
IAN LLOYD w/ JOHN FORD; TOMMY JAMES w/ GENE CORNISH and much more. keep your fingers crossed that SONY came through, though i am concerned.
AL JARDINE ends the night with HELP ME RHONDA and WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS as i am taking pictures from the 5th row at finale time. all the sudden, i hear the BUZZ from the crowd....and there is RINGO!!! what a fab ending to a fab night! and if that was NOT enough: as he exits stage left, i say to myself: picture or handshake??? i reach out my arm, which feels fifteen feet long and he grabs it for three seconds, when he goes to end the shake, i re-shake..another 3 seconds. then when i go to graciously let him go..he continues for yet another 2-3 seconds.
IMAGINE: 12:45 a.m. on FEBRUARY 9, 2014...exactly 50 years to the day when i KNEW that rock and roll would remain in my blood forever, there i am shaking the hand of the man himself and i was the ONLY lucky one enough to get that handshake as he walked off-stage!!! all this while wearing my original fifty year old t shirt with RINGO emblazoned dead center. see why i say God loves me.
