My New Haunt - Extra verse in Morristown

Post by docinwestchester »

He starts the song by saying "So here's my Thanksgiving". The added verse starts at 1:22

If we are told
If we unfold the crumbling fingers of the ___?___
There'll be no digits left to count
No poison left to drink
The low hanging Thanksgiving tree still dares above the truth
From the mean and sour earth, a strange and bitter fruit

My new haunt
Offers everything i want
And I don't mind, I don't mind, I don't mind
If she turns out to be helpless in time

Kind of cool how he snuck that in.

The second ? sounds like "digits".

As he sang it that night I thought the 1st ? = saint and the 2nd = digits as John suggests

But not really sure

Seemed to me that singing that song with the added verse was what gave him the sedcond wind and took the show to a different level that night. Fun to be there

funny one jmm...without seeing what YOU wrote for the first blank; i thought he says "SINNING"
odd how you heard "SAINT"
we're probably both wrong.

"digits" is officially installed.

"saints" is reasonable, but I'm not sure.

What about "being(?)". It doesn't really make sense, but sounds right.

How about "sphinx" for the first one?

Makes sense lyrically but it doesn't sound like it.

Whatever the lyrics, this was a kick-ass version that made me think completely differently about the song!

Pretty much how I felt about the entire Wise Up Ghost album after the Brooklyn Bowl show. A complete rethinking.

Hmmm....jury's still out on this one, but it's a good argument.

Thankyou for this info/link/fine new stanza.
