to costello-l

I have 1 decent seat for the 1st night at Port Chester, NY - Orchestra Row J

I'm going to Englewood and both Morristown, so want to recoup a little money on a show that would be my longest driving distance.

I hope to get face value - $85 - and will include shipping....or could meet at Englewood if you're also going there.

I can't post at the fan forum and I'm not of Facebook, so if anyone might be interested there, you can forward this.

One of my close friends lives in Burlington. Had a seat in the second row. He was too blown away to give me an accurate setlist other than what I posted. He seems confident he will get more of the setlist tomorrow. He said Elvis was in very strong voice and his acoustic and electric guitar playing was stellar. He mentioned that he played some "country songs" that somehow related to either his dad or grandfather. My friend is a fairly big Costello fan, but I do not think that he is too familiar with Sugarcanes songs or National Ransom. He thinks only one "Wise Up, Ghost" song was played.

Walking My Baby Back Home was played for Diana, who was home with the kids.

Everyday I Write The Book was dedicated to Ron Sexsmith, his second favorite Canadian, for showing him how to play the song anew.

The song referred to above was Jimmy Standing in the Rain, which he said reminded him of his grandfather playing on ships in the '20s

He did a "requests" section, but since they were all shouted out at once, it was hard to tell if they had actually been requested or not.

Voice was very strong. Playing was super. Would love to see another show on this tour.

Some interesting unplayed songs on the stage setlist, especially "I Can't Say Her Name" (an otherwise unknown song mentioned in the Mystery songs on ASCAP site thread). Also "The Only Flame In Town" (last played in 1987).

cool. i guess it ALWAYS come out noisy, even on (mostly acoustic) SOLO tour. it was the same in 1999 on the w/ STEVE tour. thanks. it was NOT the ONLY song played on electric guitar i'd bet.

No, for sure. He opened acoustic and played that way until Toledo, at which point he played an electric sitting down. He sat for about 4 songs. I may be confused but I think it was electric from there to the end of the main set.

VG- bless your 50 year old soul  EC- thank you for dusting off one of the real 'chestnuts' 8) Though I am not partaking of any of the offerings during this fall swing as I need to save my coin for a trip to New Orleans this coming spring with my wife to visit our oldest daughter-even if Kingston is just up the road-that is a most auspicious way to kick it off and a 'tasty' initial setlist that I hope will evolve as he proceeds down the road from town to town for future attendees.

Just not in the financial cards Mr. Apostle. Kingston is only about 45 minutes door to door due North up the river from my home but I need to save my coin to see my daughter this coming Spring. It is all about priorities and family will always come first for me. There will be other EC shows if our boy's palm reading was correct. I miss my eldest and my wife and I need a Kristin fix. :)
