Opinion Request on New Advertising Links

Post by DrSpooky »

I've been contacted by a large national ticket broker who would like me to add an advertising link from The Board to their site. How would you all feel about another advertising link besides the Amazon ones?

The Board is far from breaking even and the ticket broker's commission is a higher percentage than Amazon. Combine that with concert tickets generally being more expensive than the average CD or DVD and it looks like an opportunity to offset more of The Board's expenses.

The ad would rotate with the existing Amazon ones so it would not take more screen real-estate.

Comments and opinions welcomed.

Well you all answered my concerns. :)

I have replied to the contact and will be getting details soon. With any luck, this will be a source for concert tickets and benefit The Board as a side-effect.

I hope board members with over 3000 posts get first priority for tickets!

VG.. I personally guarantee that if you give them enough cash, they will sell you tickets to AN event. :)

The link is now there with a somewhat modestly sized graphic. It was a quick layout effort and I reserve the right to tinker as everyone politely makes "suggestions".

JUst clicked through the link and Elvis is listed as being in two places at the same time: may 2. HOB Hollywood and HOB New Orleans. So that is why he is so prolific. There are two people writing and two performing...identical twins.

Expalins the Juliet Letters, thank God.

I checked the HoB N.O. schedule and EC isn't there. I emailed Ticketsnow to ask how that happened and how they claim to have tickets for a non-existent show. Maybe EC is just playing a living room after the Sunset Strip show and it is just a typo.
