Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

I went to see Al Stewart last night with Tim Renwick on guitar. Tim is connected tenuously to the EC story having been in Quiver with Bruce, in Steve Nieve & the Playboys (the house band on the Jonathan Ross chat show) and he played on the Attractions album Mad About the Wrong Boy. Bruce also pl...

There is a link between Bruce's earlier books and Manchester United. I seem to remember that Cantona did a good Bruce Lee impression

Re: South Bank Show: "The Making Of Almost Blue" - High Definition airing, August 17 2016

Such a shame they didn't show the whole programme. It was a brave and potentially career destroying decision by Elvis but a great album. I would have liked to know what the Attractions' reaction was when he told them. Though they seemed to be enjoying the adventure.

Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Liverpool , July 11 2016

Some thoughts on the Liverpool show - great to see some of the forum members, some I have met before and some new - thanks to Sulky for my brown envelope packed with goodies and Top Balcony for a potted history of the area! When TB said he was "off for a Jimmy", the look of bemusement of E...

The night after Liverpool Elvis has a day off, and Lucinda Williams is playing in Pocklington , near York. A good opportunity for a surprise encore appearance, perhaps?

Re: Elvis's Worst Song And Why

I love all the songs that have been listed so far, but that is the great thing about Elvis, and about music in general, I suppose. Two songs I hate on an album I love, are The Big Light and Glitter Gulch, from KOA.

Re: Elvis solo, US Detour tour, Spring 2016

Bearing in mind the numerous family stories emerging from the Detour shows, its surprising that Any King's Shilling hasn't had an airing, And unrelated to this, how about a criminally overlooked song Fish N Chip paper?? According to the EC Wiki there were FIVE known performances in 1980...and that's...

I am now listening to the recording of the Harrogate show from 31 years ago today. Can I send a big thank you to everyone who has ever recorded an EC show. It is a magical experience to relive a gig I was at so long ago.

Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

Looking through my ticket collection, I notice that tomorrow is the 31st anniversary of my first Elvis concert (9/11/84 Harrogate), and 42 years ago last night, my brother went to see Manfred Mann's Earthband supported by Brinsley Schwartz (7/11/73). EC regularly seeing the Brinsley's about the same...

Re: Elvis when you least expect it

I put Goodbye Cruel World 2cd version on my IPod and played in shuffle mode. On three occasions the album track was followed by the demo version from cd2. Home Truth, Inch by Inch and joe Porterhouse. Once would have been coincidence now these things start to bother me. Any other EC related coincide...
