It was excellent. Rob Mathes (the musical director) is great with these sorts of big band arrangements.

Print version on the website: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/iggy-pop-elvis-costello-musicians-on-musicians-1091103/ Elvis Costello was less than 24 hours into his first American tour when he met Iggy Pop. It was November 1977, and the former Stooges frontman was playing at the Old Wa...

Fantastic review of the music and historical backdrop.

When EC opened with Night Rally, the night prior to Election Day 2016, I actually felt chills. It was downright scary:

SHE’S THE ONE from “Born To Run” by Bruce Springsteen I’m sure the idea of starting “Big Boys” with a single note drone came from too many hours listening to the second side of Bowie’s “Low” or Iggy Pop’s “Mass Production” but as a member of the audience at Bru...

Too much time on my hands? I put all those lyrics together into one continuous supersong. It's kind of a fun listen: DktG60AH3IY This is a fun listen. Re: The Complete Armed Forces (Super Deluxe Edition)

In later years, the song would also take on a notable change of lyric: In the recorded version the words are “She’s listening in to the Venus Line, she’s picking out names, I hope none of them are mine.” That meaning is clear enough: Whatever mating ritual the TV woman is doing, the singer wants no...

Here is the backstory: "Michael and Elvis first met in 2007 at the Molde Festival in Norway, where Costello and the late Allen Toussaint shared a double bill with Steely Dan (with whom Leonhart has played since 1996). The two kept in touch over the years, including joining forces in 2015 for a...

Spotify is amazing. I've used the premium version for about 5 years. Worth every bit of the $9.99/month.

(actually I pay $14.99/month for 4 separate accounts - the family plan)

I still buy some physical media, just to support the artists, but almost never listen to it.

Do you have a favorite EC concert?

I do and it's not even close. I've been going through my computer files during this extended concert-free period in my life, and was reminded of this: http://www.elviscostello.info/wiki/index.php/Concert_2013-09-16_New_York What a cool night.
