Pophead and Otis are my new crushes of the hour. Brainy-looking men are sexxay!

Now, if I could just keep my undying love for BlueChair a secret...any guys on the board who like black chicks...?

Several true things: My dad is the coolest man in the entire world. Twinkies taste really good, but make you quite sick after eating four of them. Yellow is NOT my color. High heeled sandals are nice in theory, but quite painful. A warm bed, a pair of my boyfriend's socks, and Calvin, my purring fuz...

Strom Thurmond, Dead at 100

South Carolina's century-old segregationist, died today. He opposed creating a holiday for Martin Luther King, Jr. He also opposed intergrated U.S. armed forces.

I hope they bury him in a black cemetary.

Wow, this is gonna be hard. Keep in mind that, like Blue Chair, these choices are just what I'm writing down at the moment. Ten isn't enough! Not in order: 1. Songs in the Key of Life--Stevie Wonder 2. Give a Monkey a Brain and He'll Swear He's the Center of the Universe--Fishbone 3. Bitter--Me'shel...

Seems like a natural progression to me. He's gotten all of the rowdiness out, and now he's ready to chill. I've always fantasized about seeing EC in a lounge, wearing a tastefully tacky suit and singing into one of those big, old-time microphones...sexy nighttime music. I can hardly wait!!!

"Cosmic Thing" by the B-52's. I was in the 5th grade. Everyone thought I was a nerd, but to this day, "Dry County" is one of the coolest songs ever. Oh, and I hope this doesn't count--one of my cousins gave me MC Hammer's first album on tape when I was, like, 8. I really wanted i...

I am forced to say that I agree with you, Cope. I don't out dancing nearly as much as I used to for a couple of reasons: one, because my boyfriend is so rhythm deficient that he couldn't catch the beat with a butterfly net; and two, because when I go out with makeup and a "cute" (NOT slutt...

You know what's really scary?

Hearing a Muzak version of "The Only Flame in Town" in the mall. I've heard it at least twice now. Elvis should NEVER be made into Muzak!!

Springsteen has that working man's hero thing going for him. Dylan has that people's poet thing going for him. David Bowie has been a space alien, a charming, well dressed British gentleman, a mod, a dirty drum-and-bass slave, the GOBLIN King ("Labyrinth" rocks!), and many, many more. Sure...

The Day From Hell

I do love my job, folks. I do, I do, I do. But, when people don't communicate--or communicate too much--problems arise. I work for the marketing department for IUPUI. My boss, aside from being a damn fine looking man, is by far the sweetest, hardest working, most compassionate, funniest person I've ...

Geez, LTZ--you really don't like people from Indiana, do you? :) I'm not as up as I'd like to be on the whole Costello vs. Thomas thing, but several things seem clear to me: first, EC was the one writing the songs. He was the one singing the songs. He was the one leading the band. Costello and the A...

Blue Chair, ain't you the sweetest! The manaical, open mouthed grin I have in the pic was brought on by working overtime and midterms. Nothing like sleep deprivation and OD'ing on caffiene and nicotine to make a person giddy...

I just finished "Lolita". It's really quite funny in places--strange, since it's a book about a man in his forties who essentially kidnaps a 12 year old girl to molest her. An excellent book, if you can get past the initial shock of the plot.

New Releases: Radiohead and Steely Dan

Okay, I know there has been a discussion about Radiohead being not nearly as cool as everyone says they are, but I'm listening to their new album now (on VH1.com), and it's as disturbing as it is gorgeous. "I Will" is a song in the middle of the album that's like an island of beauty in a s...

There is something to be said about men who appear, at first glance, to be gay. Mlle. BA, you are blessed--believe me! You have a man who is sensitive, can think for himself, and has big hands...and, yes, the big hands are a good indication. I myself am the paramour of a gay acting straight man. The...

Although there were parts of both Amnesiac and Kid A that I adore, I have to agree with you, Doofster. Melody left the building long ago with Radiohead. There are good things about their new direction--yeah, even things that really haven't been done before--but the problem with Radiohead is that the...

I've been nearly obsessed with Dr. John for the past few weeks--that is one sexy old fat White man... My work mix today consists of Dr. John, James Taylor, Tom Waits, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and The Meters (a kick ass New Orleans brass band). Nothing like a mix of music that has absolutely no bu...

What in the fresh hell...?

I've been gone for a long while (college and illness), and decided to check on the board. Board? What board? What happened over there? It looks like Narb has gone AWOL again...has anyone heard from him? I'm awfully glad to have a place to go in case the other board disappears, but does anyone know i...
