I think IB is a great record, one of the best he ever made. And its production is stellar. But, I have to say that it's not even in my top five. That's not a slam on IB as much as it is stellar praise for my top five. I think it's perfectly understandable why so many peope feel IB to be his crowning...

I think "Baby Plays Around" (those words only) and "Baby You're the Best" are pretty much note for note. No, the melody is different. Of course, didn't EC say that Cait wrote most of this tune herself? At one point, they're sung in the exact same intervals. The rhythm is slightl...

The end of "Two Little Hitlers" is "Rebel Rebel" by David Bowie. The theremin bit on Bedlam is a dead ringer for "Baby You're a Rich Man" by the Beatles. And there are a few notes together at the end of the first line of every verse of "Ntohing Clings Like Ivy"...

One can only hope. Though Tarantulas on a Bus would be better.

C2 is a compromise between Coke and Diet Coke. It's half sweetened with sugar, and half with (I think) nutrasweet. It has half the calories of Coke, and tastes more like Coke than Diet Coke, for those of us who detest the taste of Diet Coke. It served as a good transitional drink to get me to stop d...

I will see this on Saturday at a matinee, at a theater that serves beer, which is how God intended it. I'm expecting an over-the-top B-movie and will only be disappointed if it tries to be anything else. Bruno Kirby in Spinal Tap is genius. I always liked him in a movie, even if I didn't like the movie. That's really sad. Did you watch the deleted scenes reel? I think his best moments in that movie didn't even make it into the movie! RIP for sure... he was hillarious. Absolutely agree. That bit of ...

I used to adore both records, and they were two of the first three EC records I owned. They're still really good, but I greatly prefer his earliest and most recent record to anything from the late 80s early 90s. I rarely listen to MLAR or Spike all the way through anymore.

I'm all done with Mel Gibson. And what makes it different than "The COlumbus Incident" is everything except the drink. This is really interesting - what does it mean to be "done" with someone? In this case, it means I will no longer contribute monetarily to Mel Gibson if it's at...

This was a great show! They played for 3 1/2 hours (almost), and everyone was in perfect form. Best of all, I got to meet the Man for the first time at the end of the show and hand him a CD with an Oliver's Army recording on it. He was very gracious. I got to stand immediately in front of him for th...

I adore the new record, and I don't see my appreciation of it diminishing any time soon. I would have said The Delivery Man if not for TRIR. If not for TDM, I'd have said Blood and Chocolate. As much as I love ATUB and Brutal Youth, they don't stand up to his first four records as well. Spike and ML...
