Isn't it surprising that the Amish would even HAVE a web site? I thought they eschewed telephones, the internet and other connections to the outside world.

I disagree with the premise that '77-'82 were his "finest" years. It implies that he went downhill after that, which is unture. For example, KOA, ATUB, and B&C also deserve to be considered among his finest records.

Do you have a 'regular' 'mixed' drink? Not really...I go from rum and coke to jack and coke, to stoli vanilla and coke (sensing a theme?) to makers on the rocks (hah, got ya) to crown and sprite/ginger to seven and seven...wow, I might have a problem. That's my question, do I have a problem? :o Onl...

Re: Unpopular Opinions

1. Quality rap is more interesting than quality pop. 2. The youth of today are no worse than the youth of yesterday. 3. Liberals are more dangerous than the right-wing. I'm making a distinction between 'liberal' and 'left'. 4. Punk's not dead. 5. I like Harry Potter, but I'd rather read fanfiction ...

It was one of the best episodes I've ever seen. Really made up for that clunker last week with the 25 minute dream sequence. Silly me - I really thought that Christopher HAD tried to commit suicide, right up to the point where they pulled over in the woods . . .

He was a great actor. The Odd Couple was one of my favorite shows gropwing up.

Here in New York City he was also well known as an ardent supporter of the arts, havign founded a theatre company to perform the classics at ticket prices that the average person could afford.

I'll I'm really saying is that dead is dead, and hiding behind our sense of moral superioty does absolutely nothing to change that. It's not about a sense of moral superiority, it's about causation. In the case of collateral damage, the death is caused by the terrorist hiding himself within a civil...

Tim(e) -- I didn't know about your connection to the Bali bombing, my belated condolences. But at times you have to wonder if a pacific response wouldn't be better. And you also have to wonder, just why do we place the killing of that one, single civilian in a different category that the thousands ...

Re: The Streets - Believe The Hype?

Every once in a while, UK music writers go wild over something new, and the hype usually ends in disaster. The year started out with Franz Ferdinand as critics' darlings, and with much justification. Their debut LP is a stonker, and reviews on their current UK tour are equally positive (too bad it ...

Sad News

In case you haven't heard, Larry La Prise died last week. With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person...a death that almost went unnoticed. Larry La Prise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey," died peac...

Then I went to the Lincoln Center site and managed to pull row C for the Imposters and Row D for the Metropole. Anyone need some extra tickets? :D

To this day, the Beatles are just much more ingrained in our culture. Pick any person off the street. Ask them to name 5 Beatles songs, then ask them to name 5 Dylan songs. There is, sad to say, very little nobility to be found in serving the agenda of this administration. Some top officials are cunning liars and some merely dupes. I firmly believe that the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were unneccesary to end the Pacific War (and I'd be happy to square off on that one if anyone wants to take the bait). Those bombs were dropped primarily to intimidate Stalin; that's a crap reason to incinerate over a ...
