He even read from the note I had attached. I am very moved that I had an effect on someone I have so long admired.

SF Amoeba: A thirty-five minute story about a 40 minute set

It would be an hour before the gates opened -- two and a half hours...

As a transplanted son of the Bronx, I felt compelled to come to your aid. Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ still has them online, though you wind up paying as much in postage as you do for the single.

Good Friday arrived,
the sky darkened on time
til he almost began to negotiate.
She held his head
like a baby and said
"it's okay if you cry."

Gets me every time.

I managed to miss the fact that the original post was from five years ago. I realized it once I read Danny Federici's name . . . may he rest in peace.

Then perhaps he should polish off some of The River in Reverse in his solo performances. When AT played San Francisco this summer, the set list was Costelless.

Who knew we'd get the Reet Petite insert ("She's Alright!") in Radio Sweetheart without the Jackie Wilson Said segue, only to wind up with Wild Night as the Van reference?

Re: Elvis guesting in Californian shows, Sept /Oct '08 ?

The straight line distance between San Francisco and Groningen Airport Eelde is approximately 5461 miles or 8788 kilometers. That's a tough commute for a one-off (or two-off) show. My guess is they would have announced it as a Little Village show if it were happening, or really kept it a secret by b...

Pete Thomas would have been close to tears hearing it

A synopsis of Madonna's speech during last night's RRHOF induction: Madonna seemed moved by the occasion, appearing close to tears at a couple points as she gave a lengthy, heartfelt talk. She offered a brief history of her career, describing her first stabs at music: playing drums along with Elvis ...

Funny you should mention about Pete. My vantage point was from the balcony, stage left (floating above the bodies on stage, thus adding to the "surreal experience" referred to by Dr. L.) I could view Pete during each period of Elvis banter. He would pick up a little box and place it to his...

It became obvious at 9:58 that the GAMH ticket site was taking a long time to refresh, so tickets.com and its assorted fees became the more viable option. I got through to the website and on the phone at the same time, so got my tickets by phone.

tension mounts

IF the concert will be at the BR Cohn winery, it will not be September 29. That lineup will be:
The Doobie Brothers
Huey Lewis & The News
Tower of Power
Lydia Pense and Cold Blood
Lara Johnston
Pat Simmons, Jr

The lineup for September 30 has yet to be announced.

Two, actually, not requiring much analysis:

Those eyes I tried to capture
They are lost to me now forever
They smile for someone else

Then once that gets me started:
