Soothing music for thy soul: Buena Vista Social Club- can't understand shit, but it sounds happy and puts me on a beach smoking a cuban and having tropical drink. GREAT music and harmonies. Marc Ribot and the Prosthetic Cubans, same idea as above Nick Lowe, certainly any of his work; Convincer is 5 ...

Trust is a great album, in the top 5 for me. Very diffiuclt. I like the punkish mayhem of Luxembourg. Snappy melody of Pretty Words. The country twang of Different Finger. The percussive drive to Lovers Walk. Its all here. 1. Luxembourg 2. Pretty Words 3. Different Finger 4. Lovers Walk 5. New Lace ...

Coltrane Robbery got robbed; I see it ranked pretty low for most of you. I think its one of the better songs on there. 1. Coal Train Robberies 2. God's Comic 3. Pads, Paws, & Claws 4. Last Boat Leaving 5. Deep Dark Truthful Mirror 6. Miss Macbeth 7. Veronica 8. Satellite 9. Let Him Dangle 10. Tr...

Great question Otis. Since I didn't become a rabid fan until '88 or so, I suppose I missed out on all the early tours. I've only seen him at 4 shows total. First, the Brutal Youth tour when he stopped in Chicago - was great to see w/ the Attractions and my first show -- but being at the World Ampith...

like most new fans probably, my favorite albums are the faster, more pop-oriented ones for now. this years model i find just awesome. Because you like the pop-oriented, fast stuff, I would agree -- Get Happy is the next logical choice. But I don't subscribe to any order. You're already well underwa...

Bummer. I was looking forward to tonights show. Had a bunch of friends going along as well, and although they aren't anywhere close to being the diehard fan that I am, I know they are disappointed in the cancellation. I've been wondering about this tour. If you look at the schedule over the past 3 m...

OnashellacofChopin - now that you've morphed from Michael Caine into Dirty Harry - I think I'll keep my piehole shut.

Seriously, its not bad, just a different brand of humor. Which is a good thing, these days.

Maybe cut back on your own Dickel consumption when writing it?

Actually you'll want to direct that my way as I wrote the strip.
Okay. Were you drinking Dickel when you wrote it? Fair question, no?

I thought Ratzinger had a good explanation for the whole Nazi thing in 1944-45.

"It was all a big misunderstanding," the new Pope said. "As a boy, I couldn't hear very good. I thought the priests were praying, 'In the name of the Fuhrer, the Son and the Holy Ghost...'"

It was just a couple years ago I saw Johnnie playing w/ Chuck Berry in the Duck Room at Blueberry Hill. He played VERY well, amazing for being in his upper 70's, which is more than I could say for Chuck -- and he stole the show. Seem to recall a legal scrap between him and Chuck. Johnnie claimed he ...

Graham Parker's "Evil"

Songs of No Consequence will be out in a couple months. In the meantime, you can download the track "Evil" at Bloodshots website.

As Graham says, I think the song Evil "rocks like a safari park chimp".

WIWC is very good. Lots of good songs, but I agree with the others - Alibi too long and 2 Dust songs? I think My Little Blue Window could've been a GREAT song, but I don't care for the dull melody of the refrain. I read somewhere that Elvis said he didn't use any vibrato in his voice for WIWC. Just ...

I would have to rate Punch the Clock worse then Goodbye Cruel World. Too disco sounding. Perhaps some of the songs could be re-worked, or maybe they already have, but that synth-pop sound and the cheesy horns is grating. I find myself unable to rate any song as worse that the other. Sorry!
