Re: London Meet Up Saturday 9th April
As discussed in t'other thread, put me down as a definitely maybe for this. Nobody knows who I am but I received a personal invitation from Sulky Lad himself. A friend is in town but as the plan is probably to spend Saturday in various London hostelries anyway we will try and swing by.

Re: Ray Davies' Meltdown 2011
Soooo... the Fugs, Geno Washington, Nick Lowe, the Sonics and Wire jump off that list for me. Apparently this year's Meltdown is part of the 'Festival Of Britain' the Southbank are running over the summer. Given this one includes the Fugs and the Sonics I'm not sure how accurate that is. The Sonics ...

Re: In praise of Momofuku
I bought this the day it came out but I must admit I barely listened to it. Seemed a very low-key release at the time, I only knew it was coming out when Mark Lamarr played a track off it 2 days before its release. This thread has convinced me to dig it out and go back to it.

Re: Ray Davies' Meltdown 2011
Well the dates are confirmed as Friday 10th - Sunday 19th June but no acts announced. Be interesting to see what he comes up with. One of our most underrated living songwriters in my opinion.

Ray Davies' Meltdown 2011
...aka London's most unfortunately named festival given our economic situation and recent events in Japan. Has anyone heard anything any rumours about who might be playing this year? The website still stays the line-up will be revealed "early in 2011" but still nothing, presumably it's les...

Re: UK Dates
Hello Sulky, I actually meant to come along last year when you went to the Barney Bubbles exhibition (told you I'd been lurking...) but we had visitors in town. I managed to make the exhibition on its final day. As luck would have it I've got another visitor in town on the 9th but he's a bit of a fa...

Re: UK Dates
Thanks VG, I've been lurking here for ages and hadn't actually realised that was my first post! Do you know when the last UK Imposters gig was? I'm London based myself, I've been keeping an eye out since my first Costello gig in 2007 and haven't noticed one.

Re: UK Dates
I'd like the wheel, but I just really really wanna see the Imposters. I've seen him solo twice, with Allen Toussaint and with the Brodsky quartet but still not with the Imposters!
