Re: Imperial Bedroom & Other Chambers -Kettering, OH, Fraze Pavilion , July 18 2017
Just returned from the show. Sorry to say I didn't put together a set-list. On the whole I felt the sound was improved from last October's show in Akron though that may have something to do with the venue/seats. No huge surprises but we did get a very nice rendition of "I Still Have That Other ...

I expect to be there. First row, left of center. Here's hoping for a full IB show & an available "Bright Blue Times" single. Excelsior!

It appears the a-side may well be "Go Tell Your Quiet Sister"... the lower shapes of "ster" are visible below the redaction.

There's a fellow on the Steve Hoffman Forums claiming that the posted set-list has multiple inaccuracies & that "The Lovers That Never Were" was played. Can anyone confirm?

Re: Your first meeting with Elvis
Sorry to say I was late to the game as far as meeting Elvis after listening to him for 20 years. But... My wife bought me one (1) ticket to see EC & The Imposters in Columbus, OH on the Fabulous Singing Songbook tour as a Father's Day gift. (She agreed to provide the drop-off & pick-up while...

Re: Less Than Zero was first released ,as Elvis's first single, 40 years ago this weekend, on March 25th 1977
This is the mix on the first batch of the vinyl single - it would be replaced by the mix that has featured on releases ever since. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZwq3eKf0xQ This begs a question that has been bothering me for a while... I know that this, the 'organ mix', has been reported for some...

Re: My Flame Burns Blue - vinyl debut on BLUE VINYL , June 2016
I have El Mocambo, but none of the others. Extreme Honey is a Greatest Warner Hits, no? Deep Dead Blue is not really a Costello album? As for the two other albums, I did not know there were any vinyl editions. I want them. I looked at the Wiki and found that I am missing thees albums on vinyl: L102...

It appears you're only missing El Mocambo, Kojak Variety, Deep Dead Blue, Extreme Honey & For The Stars as far as LP's go.

Damn! Of course you're correct. I somehow missed it in my transcription. My bad.rightbrain wrote:Just to amend the previously posted set-list . . . the song " . . . And In Every Home" was also played in Akron.

Re: Elvis & The Imposters , Chicago , IL 29 October 2016
Sound issues still ??!!!! It seems poor sound is one of the staples of the tour so far... I get the impression that the touring party is well aware of the sound issues. I spoke with Pete for a few moments after the Akron show & he was very interested in my opinion of the sound. In fact, he intr...

Re: Elvis's Worst Song And Why
Secret, Profane and sugarcane is my least favourite of Elvis's albums. I cant think of the title of the song at the moment. but its the one that sounds like a load of drunks singing on a lurching ship and then it just stops. Surely you don't mean "She Was No Good" - one of the best tracks...

Re: Elvis's Worst Song And Why
"Why Can't A Man Stand Alone?" leaves me cold. It's the only song I can think of on any EC album that I regularly skip.

Re: UNFAITHFUL MUSIC & DISAPPEARING INK - Oct. 2015
Take 'Hallelujah,' the Leonard Cohen song that has become so widely covered as to almost a cliché. It's now being sung by middle school choirs, for Pete's sake; and is now so common that I find myself irritated at how the complexity of the song's meaning has, in most listeners' minds, been complete...

That woman on the phone is not Diana Krall. The face barely visible over Elvis' left shoulder, however, appears to be Mrs Costello.johnfoyle wrote:Forensic examination on a f/book page of the photo from Chester has determined that Ms Krall can be seen in the background, busy using her 'phone.

Re: Kojak Variety on vinyl
I sure hope that they can make a deal for Painted From Memory to be re-issued on vinyl, as it now has the distinction of being the ONLY proper Costello album to never come out on vinyl. (Even the G.B.H. soundtrack and For The Stars can be found on LPs!) As far as I know, My Fame Burns Blue was neve...
