Re: songs Elvis should retire (if he hasn't already)
Armed Forces is one of my favourite albums but I think its songs don't fit very well in the mood of his shows nowadays and they are not easy to rework ( Goon Squad , for example.). Some of them are too dramatical ( Chemistry Class ) or too New Wave in a way that could be kinda ridiculous if he play...

Re: 'The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook', Nov.
OMG I want this so badly! I want it all. The book, the poster, the vinyl, everything!
I can afford the 170 bucks without complain but I will pay a huge ammount of taxes plus the shipping and about that I can only complain.
I'll buy it anyway, though.

Re: Plans for 2012 and some bad news . . .
Personally given Elvis' want of privacy I was surprised he posted this. Me too! Also, I am curious about one thing: He thanks everyone who sent good vibes for him without even knowing what was happening. Since his site doesn't have a comment section, is he talking about the social networks or what?

Re: songs Elvis should retire (if he hasn't already)
What if you see EC for the first and only time ever and he doesn't play, let's say, Pump It Up because he played it for some many OTHER people? That'd suck. Exactly. You just said what I wanted to say in better words. Besides Alison, Pump it Up is my most awaited moment of the EC's show that I will...

Re: songs Elvis should retire (if he hasn't already)
WHAT? Wait... I've never seen Elvis in concert and I would be extremely happy to watch him perform any and every song that he wanted. But please sing Alison! I think I would be very disapointed if he removes Alison from the set list. It's not on my favourites list at all but, come on, it's a classic...

Re: If you were the "Spinner" at an EC show...
This is impossible. Seriously. I just can't pick up just one! I would probably ask him to chose one specially for me... I don't know. Really. But... "Veronica" carries a special meaning for me. Maybe he could play an acoustic version of it, like that one on A Case for a Song DVD. "She...

I laughed reading the first part of the interview and imagining Elvis face while the guy tells him about the pirated stuff.FAVEHOUR wrote:Thanks, ANCT!
Remind me not to start a conversation with Elvis with, "I was just listening to bootlegged studio recordings of yours..."

Re: Beatlefan interview
I kind of agree with Elvis. On the one hand it's obvious that people interested in bootlegs or leaked stuff are the people who buy all the records legally released (sometimes in all formats avaiable). I'm pretty sure he knows that. But, on the other hand, if they (Paul and Elvis) didn't release it i...

Re: Wishful Thinking: Songs You'd Love To See Elvis Cover
Well... wishful thinking, right? I'd love to hear him cover some Motown stuff, specially The Tempations (Papa was a Rolling Stone, The Way you do the things you do, Ain't too proud to beg or even My Girl would be great).
Do you guys know if he already did this?

Re: Recently viewed films
I watched Super 8 last night. What a great movie! It's so like Spielberg and so like J.J. Abrams at the same time. I'm a big fan of Lost and I've been following JJ's work since then. In this movie he finaly managed to combine a very good and emotional story with the mystery that he likes so much and...

Welcome, Al! I forgot to mention that her phone rings during the interview and she says "It's the nanny. The boys had lunch and now they are napping. Elvis is taking care of them in Vancouver."
Cute.

Re: Elvis to guest star on Sesame Street
I can translate it. There's nothing so much important about it but I'll translate the most interesting parts. Her marriage to Costello in 2003 brought together two musical forces, and the influence of the British rock star seemed clear in Krall's album "The Girl in the Other Room," 2004. (...

Re: Elvis to guest star on Sesame Street
Still feel there is a good children's album in his future-maybe some fun takes on Lear nonsense rhymes. Diana Krall joked about making an album for children in an interview to a newspaper here in Brazil. She said: "I hope to make a children's album. If I collaborate with Elvis, it would be rea...

I love the way Elvis loves Shakespeare. Macbeth has always been my favourite. I also think that this song kinda brings together all the concept around Spike.

Re: Impatience
I realize it'd be pretty condescending of me to say "give it time, it'll come to you", but in your case it may be true. I can't help but feel "North" is exactly the type of album that rewards repeated listening. It might seem morose and deliberately impenetrable at first but, ev...
