Re: Brand new EC podcast

This excellent podcast is now up on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts, I think the advert goes. How about we start a fan forum EC playlist in line with what the podcast is doing. You have to pick one Elvis song from the 70's, 80's,90's,00's and 10's. you cannot pick what someone else has al...

I did think about buying the vinyl but I dont think I can justify £80 for an LP (including shipping) much as I love this record

Re: My Darling Clementine working with Steve Nieve on an album of EC covers , 2020

[quote="Harry Lime"]I've really enjoyed all three volumes of this project. Some really nice and interesting arrangements of the songs--and it's nice to hear Steve's work on them. I agree Harry. Sometimes their more plaintive vocals mean you can really pick out the great lyrics EC wrote. I ...

on Friday afternoon I listened to what we have already and the album is falling into place. Now following the Aussie radio programme we have Radio is everything and the Whirlwind. The whirlwind and no flag are probably my favourite tracks

I'm a bit unclear on the availability of SN's Immobile Tour broadcasts these days? Where can I see them? Are they on You Tube? If not, why not? You need to join them via Patroen it costs $10 a month or something like that. Muriel messaged me to say I hadnt joined yet. But 9pm on a sunday night isnt...

P.S. To add to the list of singers who seem to have titanium vocal chords, I would add Mick Jagger! You may laugh but Maura and I have seen Leo Sayer a couple of times in recent years, including May 2019. His voice is incredable for a man of 71. You could see why he was a big star on the 70's and e...

Re: New song “Hey Clockface / How Can You Face Me’, sept 11, 2020

A decent song on first listen, very Jimmie's, Voice in the dark and Sulphur to sugarcane. The voice isn't great but we have to remember like all of us old father time is catching up with the great man. What is he 66 now? I think the way EC sings has always taken it out of his voice. Someone mention ...

First night of the residency at the Royalty Theatre London 1986. First time I’d travelled outside Ireland to see EC & the A’s. Intimate venue. Stellar set, all but one track from Blood and Chocolate played and a 1-2-3-4 encore punch, then the stroboscopic unsettling closer of Poor Napoleon/Inst...

I remember Harald Schmidt Show when SKY first started in analogue. Not seen the Elvis clips before. They used to have a great show from the mid 70's on there called DISCO it was a bit like their TOTP and featured a lot of my glam rock heroes
