I was wondering if anybody has an EC album that they can play from start to finish without skipping any tracks because it spoils the 'feel' of the record?
For me it's:

I love Elvis's voice and can't see that it's much different on this album as from any other - there's some beautifully restrained singing (Bullets, Dr Watson) and the 'overwrought' voice (if that's what it is) is fantastic live.

I think of National Ransom (the song) as a prologue to the album proper, in that context, it works fine for me. This album reminds me a lot of The White Album in it's diversity insofar as while not every song is top notch, it all fits together nicely. Other than that, it's all down to personal prefe...

Not to my knowledge. I really hoped EC would perform Alfie on the PFM tour but alas....

It's obvious that EC has no interest in the mechanics of the music business beyond writing, recording and performing and he gets prissy when he thinks this is under threat.Even though he began his 'career' (for want of a better word) during the DIY explosion in England he had his feet firmly planted...

Winter Song has always reminded me of Peace In Our Time. Elvis once said that the chorus of Peace in Our Time was based on another song but I've never discovered which song it was. Does anybody know the song?
