Well if he is saying that the Beatles influence modern music then he has to admit that Elvis Presley , having influenced the Beatles, IS an influence, albeit second hand. Also you could point to the Smiths and Morrissey having been influenced hugely by Elvis P - just listen to Russholme Ruffians nex...

Got Time on Earth a few days ago, this has been getting pretty lukewarm reviews, but as usual the truth seems to be somewhat different. While on the first few listens its not quite in the same league as "Together Alone" it still seems to be a set full of typically great lyrics and some rea...

Otis - Well yeah, I dont know whats with that title. BCB is indeed a pretty diverse crowd, and as such , can be rather frustrating , but if you can ignore the odd contrary, crazy or ill mannered thread - like the one you linked to - then you will find a wealth of knowledge in a lot of the posters th...

Im not sure what the story is with the American release of Those The Brokes, but it seems to be missing a track or two from the European release - no Carls Song - perhaps a reaction to the "too long" criticisms. But I really dont see what the critics are griping about on this record. Im on...

I dont believe anything "critics" say anymore, its just got ridiculous. Word of mouth from boards such as these and BCB are far more reliable. The best thing about the net is you can usually get a listen to anything from either an ITUNES snippet or download one song, or from the Hype Machi...

Its quite Elton Johnny , with a bit of classical and a big of boogie. The piano, as you would expect, is brilliant. George Harrison plays guitar and Mick Taylor, and its a wonderful set of songs.

You will have all heard him , just on other peoples records , piano session dude supreme. This is his second solo record from 1973. I really like his voice too. Are there any other essential purchases than Blue, Court and Spark and The Hissing of Summer Lawns? (the latter is my favourite so far) This could be a really great record, looking foward to it. As the others have said "Hejira" is a must have, but if you like "Summer Lawns" I wo...
