Re: Recently viewed films

I loved Hugo . It was the best thing I've seen in ages. Scorsese's best since Goodfellas . Well I enjoyed The Departed , but I agree. I loved it. . I adored The Departed as well. As good as I thought that was, I think Hugo is a stronger (and wildly different) film. The Departed was like classic Sco...

Re: books, books, books

I'll post this here, since it seems the most appropriate spot. I mentioned it elsewhere in the Annex, but I'm quite proud of my lovely wife for completing her first novel. It is available on Amazon for Kindle and any eReader that can run the free Kindle app. It's called Bent, but Not Broken , and i...

Cheers! Welcome to the board. Of course, I have no business saying that, considering how long I have been gone.

Re: Hi everybody

Otis, love that Prince song. Anything off of Sign O The Times works for me. Wardo, it has been a long time. It's true. Good to see your name, too. Invisible Pole, it's nice of you to ask. And since you did, I am happy to announce that my wife wrote her first novel and that it is available on Amazon....

Hi, good to see you guys, too. Still playing in Oliver's Army. In fact, we realized recently that it will be 10 years since the firt gig in January. Time flies.

How have you been?

Does anyone know if there is any footage/audio of the final show of this tour in New orleans? I'd love to get my hands on that. It was such a great show, and I'm honestly surprised (given the theme of the record, the significance of the location, and how unbelievably tight the band was) that they di...

I agree that Gareth is one of the best characters ever created. I'm just saying that Dwight Shrute, while similar in a few ways, is very different and is also becoming one of my favorite TV characters ever.

And I have seen that web site before, but thanks for reminding me. It's so funny.

The thing you have to do with this show is pretend while you're watching it that the UK version never existed. Dwight Shrute is a great character, but comparing him to Gareth Keenan is tricky. Rainn Wilson has made him his own. And I think Steve Carrell is brilliant as Michael Scott. He could never ...

Remember that Season 1 was only six episodes. It takes that long for any series to find its way in the US. Season 2 was VERY strong. And while I still prefer the Uk version, I adore the US version now. Can't wait for season 3.

Fast Man Raider Man by Frank Black. Really good record. If you liked his last one, Honeycomb, then you'll love this one as well.
