Re: Date of this 'Misunderstood performance?

I was there but left early so missed Elvis. I made a note of seeing Style Council, Roddy Frame, Gil Scott-Heron, Billy Bragg, Gary Kemp, Boy George & Helen Terry, Junior, Maxi Priest, Lenny Henry, David Grant, Princess, Sade, Lorna Gee, Sting, Hugh Masekela and always thought Elvis came on at th...

Re: Elvis UK Tour 2013

yes the "fan" pre-sale tickets always seem to be poor. The pre-sale direct from the venue (In this case Brighton Centre) was spot-on. Of course, I was on-line on the dot at 9AM on the day of the pre-sale and indeed was the first punter there as I picked the very first two tickets from the ...

Re: Elvis UK Tour 2013

Has anybody managed to get decent seats without paying for VIP tickets on this presale? Maybe each venue is different? I don't want to miss out but there will be train fares and possible hotel costs on top so it all adds up. If money was no object I'd go to the whole lot, but I have to live in the ...

. Let us hope that his return to The Anvil, is part of a full UK tour and sees him in good spirits. I doubt, however, that we shall see the Revolver show on the Anvil stage, but I could be wrong . It would be a shame if the Anvil were to miss out on the Hammer of Songs. MOOT Now that is funny. :D

Re: Brighton Pre Sale

Awesome gig. Despite some problems with sound/gear early on (similar happened last time in Brighton at the Dome 2005) I thought EC was in excellent form. Voice warmed up after a couple of songs and was perfect from then on. Good banter with spinners and fairly lively crowd. On feet from "I Cant...

Ulster Boy - I too was there on the 23rd. I still talk about the gig to this day absolutely astonishing. B & C has long been my favourite EC album and, in a way, I guess that's because of this one night. I LOVED the end, like most of the audience I thought it would end after "Pump It Up&quo...

Re: What is the most disappointing concert you've been to?

Definately Dylan. Feb 1991 at Hammersmith Odeon/Apollo - London. Not only no rapport with the audience, but none with his band either.

The two other Dylan shows I've seen - in 1984 and 2002 - were both excellent.

Re: Elvis Costello retires from making albums....

I read this quote out to my wife, "You can't spend your entire life enjoying yourself in everything you do. You have to choose." We both said, so does this mean EC hates being a dad if he's giving up making albums!? I had the exact opposite reaction. I think he means he loves making recor...
