Re: How Many Songs Has EC Written?
I probably should just request an account for the wiki, but in any case it looks like it's time for a Boy Named If update, which should bring the total up to 630. (And that's not counting any songs I might be forgetting since Hey Clockface). EC just gave an interview to People magazine where he cas...

Playing it over and over, it is just a great, great record. I'm sure as time goes by and we start to delve into the lyrics and the instrumentation we can all find echoes of Trust, Blood and Chocolate, TYM, MLAR, whatever you fancy. But for me, right now, it's just that moment right at the end, when ...

FIRST LISTEN - this is FANTASTIC!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D Fifth listen: this is jaw-droppingly good. The Elvis Costello LP we've been waiting for, for 40 years? It's going to take weeks to explore all the hooks and the lyrics. As a fan of any artist, you prepare yourself for regular disappointment as...

That's fine, but a bit harsh on Hey Clockface, which I think is an astonishingly good LP. I might be in a minority there, but I really do.

Haven't translated yet so have no clue what it means, but I have to say that 'Der Punkpop - Elvis kann’s noch!' is not just the greatest title I have seen for an Elvis Costello review, it's probably the greatest title I have seen for any LP review, ever.

Must say that I'm disappointed in the current need for a ban, as if that will help anything. Let's just not say it. Let's pretend it never happened. Let's let those who knee-jerk misunderstand what is being said and how it is being said rule the day. And, yes, it is a bloody awful phrase, it was bl...

Craig Charles used to do a weekly Funk themed show on 6Music but he's now taken over the regular daily afternoon show from Chris Moyles, so I guess the playlist is a bit more varied.. Cool. Well...to be fair, it's more of an 'idea' than a 'recipe'. Lol...I agree Nigella Lawson got a bit of a kicking a while back for posting a 'recipe' which basically said: butter your toast twice. The first time to let the butter soak into the hot toast, the second time to 'dot' it with blobs of butte...

Feels a slightly odd choice - haven't listened to Craig Charles' show in a long time, but I believe it's R+B/funk themed? Although maybe Craig and Elvis have previous history as friends? All the evidence so far would suggest that our man is in in the UK for a week or so, and trying to cram in as man...

Won't do any harm. Any publicity is good publicity (with the exception of having been proved in a court of law to be a predatory paedophile, obviously). Elvis' explanation is perfectly reasonable and sensible, and if this story is doing the rounds, the number of people who previously had no interest...

I was wondering if the OBE has helped open doors for him. TBH I wouldn't have thought so. Suspect that, in terms of getting on shows like this to plug your record, what opens the doors is (a) £££, and (b) who on your team knows who on their team, and can make the right phone-call. Neither Ricky Ger...
