20 January 2006 mp3 - My Mood Swings

The Brodskies rock out! Well, not exactly, it's more like some Appalachian fiddle players going berzerk at a midsummer festival of pagan weirdness while EC plays the role of circus barker. A splendid time is guaranteed for some

Sydney 20 January 2006 mp3 - She Handed Me A Mirror

I await E*C*RIDER's perceptive comments about this song (another of The Secret Songs) with keen anticipation: http://www.planetriker.org/trainspotting/shehandedmeamirror.mp3 EC introduced this song, speaking of Hans Christian Anderson's unrequited love for Jenny Lind. He joked about how difficult it...

I've seen the show already so I will say this:

The first part runs for about 50 minutes, the second half is longer. I found Il Sogno to be much more attractive live than it was on CD - and besides he's trimmed about 20 minutes off it.

Go on, be the first kid on the block to see it!

Wow, I've had orange tang, lemon tang and berry tang but I've never had that flavour. It's amazing what comes in powdered form these days

No problem, it is also my favourite EC song. (Beating out such contenders as: Riot Act, Accidents Will Happen, Beyond Belief, Brilliant Mistake, CCIU #4, Black Sails in the Sunset & The Delivery Man)

Next live mp3 to be posted will be "She Handed Me A Mirror"

Unfortunately the last couple of songs are not on the recording, for reasons unknown to me... A pity as that song's a bit of a rarity in the EC catalogue.

Here it is, voted 'Sexiest EC Song' three years running (by me anyway). Snuggle up to someone you love and enjoy. Or if your love is unrequited then play the object of your affection this song and let it work its magic on them. http://www.planetriker.org/trainspotting/3-NewLaceSleeves.mp3 Arrangemen...

Sydney 20 January 2006 mp3 - Taking My Life In Your Hands

GASP as EC blows the lyrics in the first chorus, BOGGLE as he then starts into the second verse four bars too early, THRILL as the Brodsky Quartet somehow manage to catch up to EC, SWEAT as EC starts to lose his voice toward the end, WILL HIM ON to that difficult climactic finish! Can he make it? Le...

Sydney 20 January 2006 mp3 - Either Side of the Same Town

according to EC this was written at the same time as the North songs, and this is his original draft arrangement, which was kept by Paul Cassidy of the Brodsky Quartet after EC lost his copy.

Yes, I didn't like it especially when I heard it back in October. It sounded more like something I was supposed to like rather than something I actually enjoyed. It was like attending a lecture by EC on the rights of man or something. Mind you, I expect that's what most people (non-fans) think when ...

Hmm.. I think most of us would advise an Elvis newbie to skip over Goodbye Cruel World and Punch The Clock. Oh, you have to take the not-so-good with the good in EC land. You could have added Kojak Variety to those you mentioned. Actually, I think Punch the Clock is underrated. And imagine the reli...

Sydney January 22 2006 mp3 - Watch Your Step

This one is from Sydney's State Theatre, a slighty louder and cleaner recording than the Brodsky show, but very muffled and dull. Nothing the average Pope can't fix though! (Now it's all sparkly and packed with vitamins). I picked this track because it's not one EC does every day, although I imagine...

If the release of MFBB signifies a "day of awesomeness", then what will the release of "The River in Reverse" be? An international day of unparalleled satisfaction? And what if EC records another album before the end of 2006? Will I be able to stand the excitement? PoP

My Aim is True would be an excellent choice, then you can get the rest in chronological order. Since you've already got This Year's Model, you can go straight to Armed Forces, then Get Happy!!, Trust, Almost Blue, Imperial Bedroom, Punch The Clock, Goodbye Cruel World, King of America, Blood and Cho...
