First I've heard of it, but I'd love to see it. There are blinding versions of Uncomplicated and I Hope You're Happy Now from Whistle Test 1986. Also remember a great duet with his dad on Ray Charles's Georgia from some arts review show with Russell Davies. And I believe he did Clubland or Beyond Be...

Well, Strangerinthehouse, I beg to differ! I've just found a post I did ages ago about Imperial Bedroom. Here goes: "Is it heresy for me to suggest that this album is a tad overpraised? In the recent poll of best Attractions albums, it was up there. Because it's Elvis's first album to be full o...

Hmmm - a song called 'American Gangster Time'. Wonder if he's got a song in the new Ridley Scott film. Could be the Oscar this time? the one that shoulda gone to God Give Me Strength!

He needs a breakthrough, fanbase wise. Someone needs to use ten of his songs as an integral part of a mega-popular movie sometime soon, to raise his profile. This is my dream!

30-year anniversaries

Hi all - so is the plan that Elvis releases ALL his albums 30 years after the event, with a live CD attached? Or is it just happening to MAIT?

To be honest, I think I'll be buying yet again if they all have an extra CD's worth of new stuff - hope lots of crazy live cover versions turn up.

Details of the TV airings of the concert can be seen on the web page too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/music/features/nick-l...

The back of it's a Tesco - dunno what's just behind the front - it might just be a facia, what with it being a listed building an' all

It looks great lit up at night all in green.

Great to hear of a new fan, Kilburn Bhoy - so what made you buy the first three albums in the first place? Rock magazine fan made curious by an article? Or hearing a song on the radio?

Not much to add except that it was great to meet Verbal, John and Sulky - and Verbal's verbal gymnastics helped secure me that complimentary ticket - thanks so much for that! Ooh - one thing to add actually: even tho the venue was only two-thirds full, the crowd were really appreciative and making a...

I'm trying to think what I'll be wearing that's distinctive, so that anyone can spot. Erm... I'll wear my black t-shirt which has a flying v-guitar smashing into a glitterball on the front. That should do it.

Meeting before London gig on Saturday

Hi - so what's the score on Saturday? Is anyone meeting before the London gig? I ain't going to the gig, but happy to meet beforehand - be good to meet some fellow Elvis nuts. Happy to go to a different place, but this is my suggestion. MAybe meet there at - what - 5.30pm if the gig starts at 8? Wha...

That's funny - I saw it in the shop on Saturday! Maybe it was an import. I seriously think he should capitalise on the riff from Pump It Up, and any ad should say "Find out the original behind the smash hit Voodoo Child", which sampled the song.

UK performance of 'New' greatest hits CD

Hi y'all,

Anyone heard how the UK release of "The First 10 Years" is doing in the charts? It needs a TV ad to give it a kick: has there been a TV campaign? I ain't seen anything. Squeeze's Greatest Hits package has been recently advertised a lot on telly.

The album's got this demented energy about it that's so thrilling. So danceable, so heartbreaking in its (admittedly few) quieter moments, and so layered in its arrangements - even though it's just a four-piece combo. The shouty, stroppy singing. The organ snaking around everything, or else the poun...

I listened to Get Happy the other night in bed on headphones, just me in the dark with the music. I've decided, once and for all, that it's Elvis's best album, definitely, no question! I've always wavered over that or Blood and Chocolate, but now I've decided that B&C is best to introduce someon...

Also, nobody's mentioned the gorgeous piano on You'll Never Be A Man - and his work on Sad About Girls. Heartbreaking.

Also his harpsichord on You Little Fool and My Science Fiction Twin, and - Christ - his organ work on practically everything he does is bloody incredible.

I guess the tix are expensive cos they have about seven extra band members to pay. Don't fancy dragging myself down to the Dome to see 'em. It always looks like a car park down there. I'm strictly a Festival Hall, Shep Bush Empire, Hammersmith Apollo man meself!
