Noise, impressive!

I can't believe how tight the band is. It must be a blast to play with them.

Shallow Grave was my favorite ... ditto what Bluechair said.

I would still argue whether Rope's motives in posting the two posts I read were to attack you, Noise. I did read his posts carefully, and even the looney business seemed intended to point up the fact that a person or group confronted with a claimant to know God, from outside that person, is going to...

Inane? This whole board is inane. I thought that was the appeal of it.

The obvious, fairer response would be, if you think a thread is inane or annoying, don't read it, and don't post to it. It's pretty simple. They die their own deaths.

A protest

BlueChair et al, This message, in tandem with the apparent deletion of the Wacko Jacko/God thread in the Annex, pisses me off. I would argue vehemently that Rope's response/s to Noise's assertion to know God were very far from the attack that Noise took it as, and I would propose amending your post ...

Re: Bush knew

My latest paranoia on W has to do with the upcoming elections. If he falls behind in the polls, watch the skys for raining death. Mine too. I.e., watch for a plausible warrant for declaring martial law and suspending the election. Because it's obvious that things are already beginning to trend away...

Bluechair, I noticed that too. Charlie asks Donald to help with the script, and the next thing they do is start spying on Meryl Streep's office, and it goes from there. I think that's the whole "meta" aspect of the screenplay/film. Pretty clever. I saw Adaptation twice in two weeks. I also...

Solomon Burke - Don't Give Up on Me
Los Lobos - Good Morning Aztlan
EC - Brutal Youth re-release - kinda disappointed in the bonus disk though. I do like the chorus of Life Shrinks.

Duly noted on Tacuba, Noise. As soon as I can.

Are DrJ and I the only sane people left in this jaded, pathetic world? Yes. DrJ Hey wait, count me in. I've been irritated to see people actually seeming to begrudge a guy being in love and daring to try to write songs about it. I tried several times to post, and could not quite capture what bugged...

Okay that wasn't the pic I intended to send to Spooky, but yeah, those are tiny Dutch shoes. Refrigerator magnets, to be exact.

ABBA - Greatest Hits

I bought no singles to speak of, but one time my friend Jeff and I went to the local AM station and asked for any singles they might want to get rid of. I got the theme from the Pink Panther, and something called "Actions Speak Louder than Words" by Chocolate Milk.

My musical education, thanks to a fairly whacked-out religious upbringing, is full of holes. I know very little of the Beatles, early Dylan, Bowie, the Who, Kinks -- you name, it, my parents probably banned it, or would have if I'd even known it existed. Somehow ABBA slipped through, but that's abou...

According to the press release, it's Peter Erskine.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that WIWC was an intellectual exercise in rock and roll, but this new one sounds like it has a much more focussed, specific reason for being, and that will bode well for the music, no matter the style.
