Re: APRIL 1 - NEW YORK SHOW - GRAMERCY THEATRE

Yeah, I thought that easyed's comments were a little out of line. The solution is simple: don't record it. I appreciate your efforts ba. You could have kept that or any of your other recordings to yourself but you chose to share it .So my hats off to you. I listened to the April 1st show last night ...

Re: Re-examination of "Punch the Clock"

I want to like this album more but the cheesy 1980's over production courtesy of Langer and Winstanley is too much for a group of less than stellar Costello songs. I think half of the album is brilliant and the other half is meh. I actually prefer the bonus disc of the Rhino reissue or a lot of the ...

Re: National Ransom - New Album Due Nov. 2

I agree that NR takes multiple listens before it grabs hold. It reminds me of Spike even though I'm not a fan of that album. There's a hodge podge /kitchen sink approach with the style of music in that some of the songs could have been written in the 1930's or 1940's. Elvis puts out material that I ...

Re: Elvis's last great album

For me it depends on what time frame we're talking about. If this is about his entire career, then perhaps it's Blood and Chocolate. But if we want to go back only 10 or 15 years ago into what is either pahse 2 or 3 his career(or maybe phase 4 or 5 ) then I'd have to say it's The Delivery Man. I skip...

Re: Elvis in Hurricane Katrina tv drama 'Treme',April 18, 20

I think Treme is a wonderful show and I believe this is what great television looks like. I never saw The Wire and now I regret it. The characters are rich and not one dimensional and having our boy Elvis was an added bonus and I must admit the reason that I started watching it to begin with. After t...

Re: New Album(s) Being Recorded in Nashville

I agree, I don't want want to hear SP&S again. I wouldn't mind some sort of hybrid approach. I'd be just fine with a continuation of "The Deliveryman". Which is my personal favorite album of the last 10 years. He's tackled just about every musical style there is with the exception of H...

Re: Costello Show

I think it's safe to say as collectors, we'll probably have most of what will be released with the quality being the wild card. But, I still wish they'd use a little more imagination. I mean El Macambo, come on. This is something like the third time it's been out there.

Re: Spectacle season 2

The Springsteen episode was absolutely stunning. The interviews were both insightful and captivating. And then you get the performances on top of that. The duet on " I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down" was nothing short of amazing. I can't wait for part two.

I saw the artwork for the October 15th and 17th solo shows.I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of where I may be able to download them. I've already checked Dime, Trader's Den, and BT and they weren't there. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, your help is appreciated

Re: Elvis's plans - 2008/2009

I don't get it either.I've been a fan for 30 plus years. I've tried like hell and done my part by trying to introduce his music to as many people a possible.By and large I've been met with a lot of indifference and resistance.Don't get me wrong,I've created a few converts along the way.But a lot of ...

I agree with the good Doctor. Both shows are a significant upgrade, especially the early show. The first edition of the early show was such a mediocre recording,I passed on downloading it(no disrespect to the taper, but it is what it is)Do yourself a favor and grab both of these shows.

Re: This Year's Model: Deluxe Edition to be released March 4

Personnally, I hope this whole reissue thing goes on forever so that I'll be able to have something like 10 different editions of each album. I have to do my part to contribute to the twin's trust fund.
