Re: books, books, books
Glad you're enjoying Plot , Otis. Still haven't read much Roth (just that one and Sabbath's Theater ), but look forward to American Pastoral (which Red is currently working on) soon. Currently working on Slaughterhouse-Five very slowly. Have had a lot going on that has made it hard to just sit down...

You know, I need more Lloyd. All I have is Rattlesnakes and I love it. Anyone care to point me in a good direction?

Re: Random Thoughts
I registered to vote, woo-hoo! My first election and I'm hella excited.
And, on a random note, I love Frasier. I love it even more now that I got my boyfriend hooked on it. All I want for my birthday/Xmas is the box set. Seriously, that's all I want.

Re: How did you discover Elvis?
December, my junior year of high school. My parents had played Armed Forces when I was younger, and I decided to listen to it one night on a whim. I was hooked, and started listening to My Aim, which they had as well. Around February I picked up This Year's Model and quickly became a total Costello-...

Working on Hocus Pocus by Vonnegut, who else? I was trying The Children of Hurin by Tolkien, edited by one of his sons, I believe, but right now I need something easier to read.

Thanks everyone. It's really exciting to be here; living "on my own" is really wonderful. And Verbal, I can tell you most definitely that the boys are not completely straight-laced, and the talk certainly is two-faced. As for the frigidity of girls you speak of, I really do not want to fin...

Migdd: Sorry to hear that. Even I know this economy sucks majorly and I'm not even a part of it yet. Verbal: Glad to hear the little one is doing well! I imagine she's still as cute as she was the last time we saw pictures. I've been attending to college financial stuff, other college stuff, and mor...

Re: Random Thoughts
There seems to be a "record" store around the corner from my dorm. I haven't checked it out yet, and probably won't; it seems to be mostly gangster rapping music, and I doubt it's actually got records. Although, nothing ventures, nothing gained, right?

Just letting you guys know I'm not dead...
If anyone cares, after a summer of alternately tearing my hair out and researching relaxation techniques, I am firmly ensconced in my dorm. I'm sorry I haven't been around; a love of names and a life full of stress have prevented me from being around much. Just letting you guys know that I'm a-ok an...

Hope everything goes well, Red; I'm the exact same way with even routine surgeries.
I've switched over to the dark side (Firefox). I'm enjoying the spell-check immensely.

Re: books, books, books
Well, from the last update, I've read Frankenstein (Which I really liked), re-read all three LOTR books and a lot of the appendices (I still love them), started re-reading Sense and Sensibility but then got to the library and got: Vonnegut's Welcome To The Monkey House (title story was brilliant), a...

I swear to god, sometimes I just want to strangle my mother. Whoopity do, I'll be running the dryer at 1:30! Woo! Yeah, it's such a huge deal! Seriously, no matter what I do, she bitches. Bitches all day. Argh! And before you tell me that it heats up the house, I know. But she just goes on and on......
