Re: Steve Nieve - The Daily Improvisation

Being busy with homeworking and kids I've not had time to catch up with these yet - any good tunes we should know about? Plenty. Today started with Black Sails in the Sunset and ended with Favorite Hour. Most every day we get a couple of Elvis tunes, some of Steve's solo songs/pieces, and some fun ...

Re: Steve Nieve - The Daily Improvisation

These have been wonderful. On the first day we got some of London's Brilliant Parade and April 5, among lots of other things. It's very kind of Steve to share his talents during our global isolation.

Re: Look Now: new album announced!

I remember quite clearly how painful it was back in 2010 for National Ransom to seem to disappear without hardly a trace of recognition and how that disappearance, I'm embarrassed to say, slowly eroded some of my own love of it (it really is time I pulled NR out again). I recall some speculation he...

Elvis has been doing a lot of great, thoughtful interviews for this record. And many of the interviewers have been asking great questions to spur such insightful conversations. Kudos!

Re: Look Now: new album announced!

I agree, that is probably one of the best EC interviews I've read. It contains so much insight into his thinking and - most importantly - into the music, and how he perceives it. Best of all is that he clearly seems interested in recording more music. The fact that he made such a splendid record se...

I'd love to see the return of the rocking version of Complicated Shadows.
And since we have the extra singers, how about Let Them All Talk.
And Stations of the Cross, just cause I like it so much.

Re: Look Now: new album announced!

I've reached a place where I know better than to assume that another record will be forthcoming, but one thing I especially love about it is that it certainly doesn't feel like a swan song. This album is the work of an artist working at the top of his craft, with a band that can handle anything he ...

You should check out some of the Beautiful South albums--they're very good, with a nice combination of toe-tapping tunes and cynical lyrics. Welcome to the Beautiful South and 0898 are a couple of my favorites.
