Thanks for this Martin. I read the article this morning and PM'd that other great LC fan, Otis. Hopefully both of us will be getting along to the show. Having missed them the first time, I wouldn't want to do so again.

Pretty damn fine for me. I am a blessed man.

...although bit would be very selfish to forget that it can be as ugly as it gets for many. I have just been reading an article on Fred and Rose West in The Observer today. if you need reminding just how evil people can be, read it.

Pophead2k Indeed 'How to be Dumb' is aimed at Bruce. My mistake  I actually meant 'Hurry Down Doomsday...' in which I believe he took a swipe at Sting's eternal moralising with the lines: "Anyday now a giant insect mutation Will swoop down and devour the white man's burden Starting out wi...

i'd be very surprised if he sang a Sting tribute - he can't stand him or the Police from my recollection. He also took the piss out of him in 'How to be Dumb'.

It was hardly a surprise that Jools wasn't interested. He hasn't been in squeeze since 'Frank' (1989) and Glenn is very open about his lack of interest in the band even then. He likes his boogie-woogie does Jools...

I still think that Chris and Glenn will write and record together again..

'You tripped...' was definitely a single. A stiff one but definitely a single....it failed to chart. Interestingly, the follow up (London's Brilliant Parade) peaked at number 48. Not many follow up singles improve on chart postions for Elvis. It was backed by 'You've Got to Hide Your Love Away', 'St...

Neither SLC nor Other side... were hit singles in the UK. Of all Elvis's singles, I never undertsood why the latter was not a big hit. My kids love it....esp the "mad man standing by the side of the road" and "yeah(yeah),yeah(yeah).." bits. Its one of his most catchy numbers and ...

sounds great. When I spoke with Glenn T last year, he was far from complimentary about Chris's solo work. He called it 'different'. I have always thought it a huge mistake for them not to be working together. Like Lennon and McCartney, they need each other to produce great songs. Glenn's solo record...
