Hatman - you penned this on 5th April ie some weeks before EC's final pick emerged, are you Elvis in disguise or if you're Nostradamus can I have the lottery numbers please?

Really nice choice for #1.

And a related point - I trust that we can rely on Colin Top Balcony or someone to take a good quality stopwatch to the Philharmonic Hall show in June, because I will want to know exactly how long it takes from Elvis walking on stage until an audience member bellows "Tramp The Dirt Down". ...

Re: 'a newspaper picture..A woman was kissing a child'

When he sang it in Liverpool last year he said something like " I never expected to have to sing this again..." which tends to bear out what UB says about his relationship with the song since he wrote it originaly. He's always said it's his call on the setlist not the audience's - spinning...

Certainly got a rousing reception in Liverpool, and quite right too.

Suggest that the axe being aimed at the welfare budget was the reason for it's re-appearance.

But then Elvis told Sulky, John and myself in 2006 that he would only play Dublin when hell froze over... crikey climate change is taking a bigger grip than I thought I predict the Who Cares set, substituting Substitute for Happy to finish As John would say - anyone going? Colin Top Balcony

Re: Will any Elvis songs rise from the shadow of the 'biggie

Think if JC had actually recorded "Complicated Shadows" this song would have inspired a huge following among country musicians, if not the music buying public. "April 5th" hasn't really even made it into the shadow, never mind rising out from it, pity, it's a lovely song, every w...

EXCELLENT story...thanks Colin!!! did you record BOTH nights and make artwork too? No I didn't record either night - but someone has! I do have recordings of both evenings, pretty miraculous given that this was the era of supersized reel to reel tape recorders. Younger readers can follow this link ...
