I’ve had an email to say my copy has despatched ( in the UK)
Encouraging that it is not as delayed as previously suggested.

The Sweetest Punch was one of the highlights of the big Elvis & Burt show at the Festival Hall in London. Brilliant live - the bells, the bells!!!
Very annoying that the box set is delayed in the UK. How can they only let us know on the purported day of release? They must know earlier.

Re: Elvis and The Imposters with Charlie Sexton, Bethlehem, PA, February 23, 2023
This was a very enjoyable “greatest hits” show - meat and 2 veg after the Smorgasbord of the Gramercy. But what’s wrong with very tasty meat and two veg from time to time? Went with two friends who are more casual Elvis fans and they were blown away. Very good and appreciative crowd. Bedlam in Bethl...

Re: Elvis & Steve Nieve GRAMERCY NYC February 20, 2023
Amazing setlist, but did they forget about "Deep Dark Truthful Mirror" and "Couldn't Call It Unexpected"? ("A Face in the Crowd" also appears to be the residency's first non-"PL&U" repeat.) Elvis did say they were going to “break their own rule” when he p...

So jealous of this particular setlist! Glad to see EC can still dish out a decent GGMS, the last time he played it... not so good. Exactly!! I was wary seeing it on the set list but he nailed it last night. It was a night of predominantly big filmic ballads, all rendered superbly. However, I still ...

You were unlucky with passport control - we also came over from UK and it took under 30 minutes. Maybe see you at the Gramercy in a bit! Good to meet you tonight Fishfinger King. I see Norwich got a mention. And after what I was saying before he actually played Tiny Steps! What are the chances? Ama...

King of Confidence : Wow!! My 3 Sons + Puppet represents two very personal songs back to back. Did he seem moved by doing them together like that I wonder? Yes, he seemed very moved by those two - plus Toledo when talking about Burt. This was well worth the trip over from the UK!!! The moment when ...

I’m sure it was played before some of the June U.K. dates. I certainly heard a version of Magnificent Hurt that I hadn’t heard before and couldn’t find any relevant details online at the time.

Re: Elvis & The Imposters, Regent Theatre, Ipswich, June 22, 2022
The audience reception in Ipswich was the best I’ve seen on this tour so far. People dancing from early on and good to see that the stewards let them and made minimal interventions. Contributed to a great atmosphere and Elvis seemed to enjoy it a lot. He even somewhat tempered the expected Norwich j...

Thanks BA. I saw Tommy and CC at Red Rooster Festival here in the East of England last year. Plus CC supported Nick Lowe at Nell’s in London soon afterwards. Excellent and glad they are getting some attention.

The Barking Sing- it’s a real poser and hopefully you’ll be able to hear it for yourself soon - I promise - but it starts with Davey bowing a riff on the double bass and then Elvis skat sings along with no words but “ruff ruffing” . I have a distant memory of the song being a sort of children’s com...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters, Manchester Opera House, June 11, 2022
Yes, this was easily the best sound so far, that I’ve heard. Funnily the sound dropped out completely 7 or 8 times in Ian Prowse’s set and I thought “Oh, no, here we go again....” The sound team in the interval spent extra time making sure everything was OK - and thankfully it was. Audience was grea...
