The famous five.
Originally seen as copyist (or an obvious 'mix' of Dylan and the Beatles), the Byrds now should be remember as one of the best band of the 60´s. Roger McGuinn 12-string Rickenbacker opening of the title track of their debut is one of the finest sounds in popular music;'Eight Miles High' still consta...

Is 'Just About Glad' as good as i think it is,
or i´m just amazed to hear it for the first few times? What a charming and desolated gem of a song... 'And on the few times I rang to propose/There was a man there or so I suppose','For all of the courage that we never had/I'm just about'... The song alone makes 'Brutal Youth' a most own for a Coste...

Saved * * - Music and Dylans worst decade (coincidence?) the 80´s was almost a lost era. Saved is Dylan´s praised the Lord album and though some songs are good, the album dont offer any masterpiece and contains some really weak tracks. Oh, but the worst thing about Saved is its cover ... terrible! (...

From the same album, 'Dark Eyes' could have been a great song, but it suffer from a really bad performance from Bob himself (you don´t have the ridiculous production here)! And what about leavin Blind Willie McTell and Foot of Pride out of Infidels? And where´s Dignity, Born in Time and Series of Dr...

I´ve heard the Blood on the Tracks New York Sessions which i consider a masterpiece in its own merit. Its great to hear the songs of BOTT as they were first intended to be. The songs (Mainly 'Idiot Wind') were much slower and even sadder. I can´t say i prefer those earlier versions in favour of the ...

2004. Some reviews
Loretta Lynn´s Van Lear Rose - As far as i know this is the best thing released this year. (And she´s around for about 35 years or more. So this makes her not a new artist at all!) M83´s Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts - A good album indeed, but nothing impresive if you already know the work...

Beck is a great artist and of all his records, 'Midnite Vultures' is the only one that i don´t like... my fave. is Odelay (though Sea Change is aging very well and i know someday i´ll rank it above any other Beck album). BTW, 2004 has been a shitty year (not just for music, but for all kinds of arts...
