Ooh, here's an interesting singer I have listened to in my exile...Joanna Newsom... She's great, really strange mewling vocals, Bjork meets Kate Bush with harps...her album The Milkeyed Mender is smashing, (I also heard her on an advert for Orange mobiles the other day - better than all those Over T...

 Guilty...the thing is they take ages to do, painstakingly weighing up who goes were, politics and all....reduced to 3 seconds of 'who am I?..oh'

 Still fun though

I think my cat has lost some respect for me...is this normal?

Alas, London is a no go....maybe in 2006...

Good to be in the company of many other 'comeback kids' - Rama, Quetzlcoatl, Lazarus, John Travolta, Chesney Hawkes, Dirty Den...

The Monster At Our Door by Mike Davies...about Avian Flu, bit boring. Brave New World by Huxley...amazing, epsecially that this was written in the 30s but reads like it could have been written yesterday. Stephen Fry's Incomplete & Utter History of Classical Music...entertaining, but a bit disjoi...

Hey...just tonight I watched Ichi The Killer...brilliant stuff, so funny and gorey, yet quite surreal...it was great - but some bits might be deemed disturbing I suppose...man having his faced sliced off and that, not particularly reccomended viewing for 'beans on toast with the kids'. I have seen q...

Yeah probably EC's me number 1...in terms of music that I can constantly relate to things that happen/have happened to me...you know in the way that sometimes a song becomes your own, and you can never hear it again without thinking about a particular moment. I guess that's more to do with his lyric...

Sadly no Elbow for me up here...FF were ace though, great use of the video on a massive screen behind them.
Watch out for their support the Editors...they were mince, a bastard chimera of U2 and Coldplay!

Interesting fact -

If you put all EC lyrics into the computer, pay 12.99 for my book The Costello Code, and stare at them real hard.......

you go boss-eyed.

Is EC a direct descendant of JC?

It is, as I say, a surprisingly good book..they also include EC's Extreme Restraint - basically the Top 10 songs from the Vanity Fair Top 500 article (rather than the Starbucks 'choice' list - oh yeah, I finally got a copy of that thanks to a travelling coffee consumptive). EC crops up in the Stiff ...

Anyone got the Rough Guide To Playlists? Surprisingly good book, perfect little stocking filler £5.99 from all good bookshops....the Costello entry is by Andrew Rosenberg...("His prolific, genre-hopping career has delved into the country, classical, jazz and R&B, but to many he remains the ...
