I hear his organ playing more with every listen. he really is a gem, elvis is so lucky to have held on to him for so long. The album really is a grower, listening to it more and more now. One of Elvis's most mature albums.

I got excited when I saw "Manchester", not realising there are two Manchesters in the world.

It may not be cracking, but I can probably safely take back that statement. On Your Way Down is still the least exciting song on the album for me, but it's growing on me.

I remember seeing "Alison" on a series of "Album tracks from Great albums" which was a 3-CD box set. A strange choice (wasn't Alison released as a single) but I don't think Costello's complaining!

It's great, really really good. But it NEEDS a cracking opener, and it doesn't have one, IMHO. It's the best collaboration he's done (just) and I reckon it's abour 4-4.5 stars. Apart from the Delivery Man, his best since Brutal Youth and All This Useless Beauty.

The album on amazon.co.uk has gone up to 56 in the album charts. That's pretty good! My copy didn't arrive today, so I'll hopefully get it tomorrow.

The order from amazon has dispatched, so should arrive tomorrow. Will let you know my thoughts...
