In retrospect, it seems inevitable that Costello and Jim Lauderdale would collaborate eventually. Jim's the only man I know who dresses as well as EC does.

Everyone seems to take it as read that he will be at Meltdown. They haven't even announced the dates for Meltdown yet, so who can tell if it'll be on the same time EC's in England? Even if he did play it, there's no reason he couldn't play HRC too. Although I've already got a ticket for the Liverpo...

I've also had a thought. EC seems to have a Hard Rock Calling shaped whole in his UK tour schedule. Perhaps a spot on the Saturday evening? And McCartney's headling that night, so maybe they can break out a version of 'Pad Paws and Claws'. McCartney hasn't announced any support as yet where I think...

I had no ideas these existed. What a fantastic read. His prose is equal to his pop lyrics. I cannot wait until he gets around to writing This Year's Girl: An Autobiography.

There has, so far, not been a single thing to suggest that the new record with the Sugarcanes is a concept album - in fact, the opposite seems to be indicated. So I don't get what everyone's afraid of. People seem to be saying they liked the sound of SP&S, just not the Jenny Lind aborted concept...
