Nashville 1st October 1997

Does anyone have a copy of the recording of this show which apparently was broadcast on FM radio: http://www.elviscostello.info/wiki/index.php/Concert_1997-10-01_Nashville It's the rendition of "Jesus on the Mainline" with John Prine et al which has attracted my attention. Please send me a...

John
Could you run that through Google Translate please? Sound in Liverpool in July for the Imposters show was 'muffled', although my seat location, front row by Davey, could have been the cause.

Re: EC nominated for Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album

Go Elvis indeed! However I admit I find his 'reading voice' a bit stilted, and then came to wonder which professional voice could have been hired instead. Think it requires the ability to inject some Scouse into the delivery, unless reading bits covering 1977/78 when stealth recordings indicate he h...

I completely agree with Verbal - it's the "Mother Theresa" crack which seals it for me. National Ransom Version No.10

"Red Cotton" included a nod to a famous Liverpool landmark: "...Merchants will gather at St. George's Hall..." Anyone curious about this edifice will be able to see it in a starring role, impersonating a NYC building in the movie Fantastic Beasts : http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/...

Re: A series of special presentations by The Imposters in late 2016: Imperial Bedroom & Other Chambers Tour

SP I did the same. Appreciate this is heresy to some correspondents, but IB wasn't one of my real favourite albums. Obviously some top, top songs and as you might predict I'd place MooT and Beyond as amongst his very best. However others felt a bit indulgent. So it was very enjoyable to revisit the ...

Our son's wedding reception at Pepper Saint Ontiod, Isle of Dogs, recently. He and prospective bride had constructed two playlists. I was suprised and delighted to hear My Funny Valentine during the 'quiet bit'. Later came She and then Lipsick Vogue during the 'loud/dancing bit'.

Yeah - I'm lucky to have seen EC play with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008, but this was a one off part of our Capital of Culture celebrations. I'm hoping UK Tour of Special Presentations would mean whole album run troughs, my pick would be Get Happy , but with my luck I'd get Nor...

I'm seriously thinking about lowering my standards and going to the Mudchester show. My guess is that EC won't Detour to Liverpool in 2017 as the Phil show was DVD'd here. More of a long shot is my hope that he'll return to Liverpool ( for a standing gig at the Mountford Hall please) with the Impost...
