The vocals are a little more pronounced in the mix; and it is longer before the fade-out. I wonder if it was released because the line is clearer, "wrapped in blood-stained fleeces". it can be easily mis-interpreted in the album version as "blood-stained feces". Who knows, maybe ...

I caught the ad on Sunday.

As appalled as I am for Elvis selling out to Lexus; I did find the ad funny.

After talking about Beethoven (1st Movement of his 9th symphony, I believe) he starts conducting in the back seat. It is very funny.

Elvis' Sleeve Notes for Stax Profiles: Booker T. & the M

Speaking of sleeve notes: Does anyone know where I can get Elvis' sleeve notes for "Stax Profiles: Booker T. & the M.G.'s". I even bought the album on iTunes, but they annoying don't give you the sleeve notes. Great CD by the way. I believe Elvis had some input on the tracklisting.

I'm probably the only person in the world that really liked Elvis' "Mighty Like a Rose" beard and long hair.

As a bonus, it kinda hid his weight problem a little.

Tug of War would have been so much better if Paul had done all of his own drumming. Steve Gadd played on that album. I very capable drummer technically, but boring! boring! boring! I totally believe in the Ringo school of drumming. Style and character rather than technical precision. The best sessio...

It is very understated, but I always liked McCartney's drumming on the song Band on the Run.

Paul even said once that he got a compliment from Keith Moon on the drumming on that track.

Bruce was wonderful in The Attractions. And, I do miss The Attractions' sound. But, As EC has said, Bruce and Steve are both melodic, lead instrumentalists. Elvis said that because of this, he and Pete had to be the ryhthm section. With Davey Faragher, The Imposters have a more standard rhythm secti...

"Inch By Inch" borrows a lot musically from The Beatles' "I'm Only Sleeping"

The melody from "Tramp the Dirt Down" is comically derived from Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely"

It's funny, How could I forget (What's So funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding)? Elvis' version is so definitive and such an Elvis classic, I forget that he didn't write it. P.S. There is a great solo, acoustic version of it by Nick Lowe on "The Doings". Though too bad there isn't a...

The most amazing thing about the special is what a great backing band Elvis and the Imposters are.

I could see Fiona Apple and Billie Joe Armstrong really enjoying playing with such a great, versatile band.

Elvis also really shines as a rhythm guitarist

Elvis is so good covering newer songs, like Fiona Apple's "I Know" or harmonizing on Green Day's " Up When Septamber Ends" ( or even Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful"); I kinda wish he would have an annual or bi-annual album of covers of good songs of the year. He could ...

I can't decide between Imperial Bedroom or Get Happy!!

Imperial Bedroom may be the best album artistically with the Attractions, but the playing is so great on Get Happy!!!

The Attractions proved on Get Happy!! that they were the "Booker T and the MGs of the Eighties"
