I taped it when it was originally shown on BBC1 or 2 eons ago. I think it was around the time (1985?) when Elvis was a bit strapped for cash as he kept turning up at shows and playing. He'd also recently shown up at a Los Lobos show in Camden and played I Got Loaded with them. Don't Get Above Your R...

I hope Elvis plays himself better than he plays other characters! Mind you, having seen him play himself in Larry Sanders, probably not!

This always happens. As soon as I really get into a band, someone gets hurt. If you'll remember, I made my big Clash discovery last year...Joe Strummer died. I've bought three Kinks records in the last month and played them over and over again. Ray Davies gets shot. Looks like I need to start liste...

It is a superb programme. Even though I've already seen it on BBC3, I watch it on BBC2 on Monday and then turn to BBC3 to see another episode. I love it. The other character I like is the Scottish hotel owner with the flute but I also love Tom Baker's narrative.

The best thing about though, and this is not bulls**t (it was in the paper here), is that the people who work there have nicknamed it...... SKELETOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well LC, if it was in the papers then it must be true! I thought Skeletor was Victoria Beckham's nickname. And she's looks ruff ...

Re: Elvis scrubs up for his wedding

This is a great article isn't it? My favourite parts are: 1. A new generation of image-conscious men would rather have their chests waxed than head down the pub. I can just imagine saying to my mates "Sorry boys - I can't make it for a beer tonight as I've got to have my chest waxed". I think they'd...

You too Gilli. When I reflect on this year I realize what a good one it's been in the main. And, hey, as to Ben Elton, at least he didn't call him "Bobby" DeNiro.... At least not on public television. I agree with Lapinsjolis.
