Re: "Plotting our return, early in the Leap Year" (2020 UK tour)

Having failed to score decent seats at a couple of shows via the Pre-sale site, I've now scored much better ones ( ie 5 -8 rows closer ) on the Ticketmaster or ATG sites - which is rubbish isn't it ? for example London still available for Row H admittedly a bit pricey but ...............

Re: "Plotting our return, early in the Leap Year" (2020 UK tour)

I too wondered about how many more treks around the UK Elvis ( and I ) could sustain. You could understand him maybe doing a series of nights in the RAH in London and then a night in Cardiff, Liverpool, Newcastle and Glasgow or Edinburgh in future - I just hope his health holds up and that this isn'...

Now AEG seem to be rejecting every form of payment that i can muster - couldn't buy Manchester, or Oxford with one of two credit cards or Paypal - rubbish considering how much I've put their way

Despite many fans advancing years, I imagine quite a few more tickets might shift if they were a bit cheaper and standing - still, it's early days and I've not entered the fray yet !!!

Re: EC Norwich 25 May 2005

Following Fishfinger King's post about Elvis avoiding Norwich, I wonder what the support band from that night are doing now - they were all about 14 years old ( and so late twenties now) and were clearly petrified about playing in front of such a huge ( for them, presumably) crowd! I remember the wa...

There you go , I’ve always liked Elvis’s Big Band songs like That’s How You Got Killed Before and Eisenhower Blues - never seen either live as far as I can recall

Obviously Elvis knows the outcome of Brexit and won’t visit the subcontinent of Eire and also that by March £1 will be worth about 25 cents or 2% of a Euro !

That's a great comment - Wise Up Thought is pretty unlistenable for me though I do like Wise Up Ghost - it's just the remixes remind me of the 1983 Everyday remixes and re-releases - awful !

Re: "Plotting our return, early in the Leap Year" (2020 UK tour?)

Still pleased all my favourite cities are covered even if not my favourite venues ( Cardiff, Sheffield, Bimingham, Nottingham, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Oxford. ) Sadly, no Southend or Pl...

Re: "Plotting our return, early in the Leap Year"

Could it be a reference to Sheffield as Pete is originally from Sheffield and he adopted a Bond-like pose in the photos given away with Armed Forces with the flash sports car and two blonde lovelies ? It's about the only connection I can make however tenuous
I'm struggling to be honest !!

Re: 40 Years Ago

Recently had contact from someone selling Costello stuff - he's no longer quite as infatuated as I am, and he recalled seeing Elvis and The Attractions at the Top Rank Suite in Sheffield in 1978 on April 5th and apparently after the concert had ended, a lighting rig crashed onto the stage and wiped ...

TJL doesn't do a lot for me, though there are three or four good to great songs on it.I'm almost entirely in agreement otherwise with hawksmoor about the "classical" soundtrack stuff and I wasn't sure about A Face In the Crowd - too many songs seem to be written to fit the "musical se...

Elvis seems to favour Brighton over the years though I've never heard of Brighton Rice Pudding -

perhaps Graham Greene had a dessert fixation ?
