Re: Do you have a favorite EC concert?

This is a difficult one. Quite a few to choose from but some obvious one stand out. Not all great shows but there is more to it than that. The first one, 22nd October 1977, on the Stiff Tour at Leicester Uni. I didn't know at the time it would be start of a 43 year obsession but everything about th...

Re: Do you have a favorite EC concert?

It is kind of a toss up for me between two very different EC concerts: 7/22/05 in Wallingford, CT. with Emmylou Harris, Larry Campbell, and The Imposters. http://www.elviscostello.info/wiki/index.php/Concert_2005-07-22_Wallingford 7/17/04 at Avery Fisher Hall in NYC with the Brooklyn Philharmonic. ...

Re: Do you have a favorite EC concert?

I do and it's not even close. I've been going through my computer files during this extended concert-free period in my life, and was reminded of this: http://www.elviscostello.info/wiki/index.php/Concert_2013-09-16_New_York What a cool night. Wise Up Ghost was being released at midnight and we all ...

Re: Brutal Youth limited edition 2LP gatefold red vinyl

I bought the red vinyl version from Amazon only to receive an email Tuesday saying they were finding it difficult to obtain. Maybe I will end up with the normal version. When the album was originally released I was looking after my eldest daughter and she was about 8 at the time. She was up early i...

Re: New song August 14, 2020: "We Are All Cowards Now"

Have to say that this sort of familiar thing about not quite knowing what's happening is an old joy that's always brand new. Smoke and mirrors indeed. Very happy to be in this mess. Yeah, I share that thing about the tantalising excitement of knowing something is about to happen but not knowing the...

Not happy about this result. Strict Time is such an incredible rhythmic/melodic tumbling ride through the hills on an out of control train. Watch Your Step is fantastic but it doesn't thrill like Strict Time. That song continues the shocking violence featured on the album - 'broken noses hung up on...
