Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Usher Hall, Edinburgh, March 10, 2020

Forgot to mention we met Pete and Elvis after the show where several members failed to ask Pete to get them in to the Mudchester ( compliments to ColinTB) gig and we adjourned to the Shakespeare pub where we were eventually invited by Ian Prowse to join his entourage. Sadly we soon were kicked out b...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Usher Hall, Edinburgh, March 10, 2020

IMHO the most majestic night of the tour so far - we got Photographs Can Lie, Uncomplicated/ Shotgun, probably the best Detectives I’ve seen in decades with Elvis playing a phenomenal solo before rapping the lyrics to Invisible Lady, , hi energy from the band and the audience and just over 2 hours. ...

Re: Elvis & the Imposters play Opera theatre, Blackpool , 9th March 2020.

This was a foreshortened show although one shouldn’t complain as it was still over an hour abs three quarters. Elvis made a few references to the music hall traditions of both Blackpool and Sunderland and the only track not played so far was Deep Dark Truthful Mirror. The audience was extremely enth...

I'm more the kind of guy that when i catch him saying "there's a thousand things i want to say to you." that immediately deciphers it as IN THE CITY by THE JAM! That's because it was. I heard him do the same. 8) I'd love to see a list compiled of the songs Steve has interpolated. My favou...

Re: Guitar solo in Watching the Detectives.

I’ve always omitted it because it’s not a ‘song’ in the sense of no vocals. If it came to listing instrumental inclusions we could open a huge can of worms particularly with Steve in any band - he’s played so many different musical phrases in his accompaniments such as “Je t’aime’” on his introducti...

Re: Elvis' christening church - 'For Sale'

Thanks as usual to John for his perseverance in bringing to our attention more of Elvis' past. The church and presbytery are still showing as "available" on the Auctioneer's website. The guide price of £290,000.00 - £325,000.00 may have something to do with this. The more logical outcome ...

Yeah.... she's a regular poet laureate doc!! On the first two POGUES lps where she featured, she has exactly ZERO writing credits.
