Re: Elvis hints at new release: Lupe-O-Tone's vinyl singles

Missed out on the vinyl over the weekend as I was away (boohoo - though may have been too pricy) Just downloaded and probably just as well I didn't shell out. Elvis's vocals are good on American Tune but I think Questlove's drumming is too intrusive and unecessary; think Pete would have done a bette...

Re: Painted From Memory on vinyl , June 2017

My copy arrived today!
They do exist in the UK - mine number 588.
Sounds extremely good - no surface noise at all. Even The Long Division sounds good!

Re: Painted From Memory on vinyl in 2017 ?

I ordered my copy in the UK from Scott Nangle - bigger outlets don't seem to have it.
Emailed them yesterday to check availabilty and they had 50 copies in stock but had already sold 47 - 48 now with my order!
Act fast all!
Looking forward to hearing it+++++

Re: Homages to the TYM cover photo.

I love it that WBA have been original for their programme covers - looking online the Chris Brunt one is not the only one - they are all based on classic album covers this season. The With the Beatles and Born in the USA ones are great. They are probably more entertaining than most of their matches...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Liverpool , July 11 2016

I agree with most of the comments above. Much as I liked the Detour gigs, I loved this - it was the dog's bollocks!!! Sorry to miss board members - the Phil pub (and much of the surrounding area) seemed to be full of John Moores University graduating students and their families so we went straight t...

Re: Elvis's Worst Song And Why

The Stamping Ground would take my vote every time. Horrible dirge. She would be second to last - at least The Stamping Ground is never played in concert - why we have to suffer She is beyond all reason. Broken next. Tramp the Dirt Down also in the mix - and similarly overplayed in concert. God's Com...

Re: Elvis plays Warwick , May 9 2016

I agree that it was an extremely good show. Great to hear a lot of new songs - hopefully something new is happening soon. Seems the bald head is now more acceptable and the constant hat-wearing out! Shades also back in. Seemed very relaxed and the audience was good. Just have to accept having heard ...

You're wondering now - fantastic and in honour of Horace Panter. Sulky - I hope you got this for posterity... By the way, what time did Larkin Poe do their set? VG - You're wondering now was for John Bradbury, the Specials drummer, who died recently. Pictured on screen after Dan Hicks. Larki...

Re: I'm Your Toy promo video on Vevo/YouTube

Truly brilliant video. I'm so jealous of Cocktail and Offshoream getting to that show, I remember being so keen to go but couldn't get time off work and was living and working in Taunton at the time (as a junior doctor then I did work 80-100 hours a week ). What a great setlist Here's hoping the who...

Re: Elvis, solo, plays Cambridge, UK, June 18, 2015

Which famous faces graced the TV screen? The other two were Richard Attenborough as Pinkie in Brighton Rock and Syd Barrett. He's still got it in for Norwich though! I don't suppose anyone likes coming onto stage to a pissed off crowd, let alone having a pint of water/beer thrown over them, but if ...

Re: Elvis, Solo, plays Southend-on-Sea, UK, June 4, 2015

Didn't like the comment about pitchforks and never coming back to Norwich (boo, hoo - it was only a bit of beer and Liverpool won on penalties). Other than that it was an excellent solo gig - much better than the lacklustre outing I saw in Swansea last year. I don't think I've heard Sneaky Feelings ...

I've only seen Elvis there once but it turned out to be the best Elvis gig I've ever been to.

It was a fantastic gig - I presume you mean the Spinning Songbook in 2013? Certainly in my top 3. Pity it is seated this time.

Good grief, this is less than a week away -doesn't time fly?
