Re: Elvis Solo, Basingstoke, Friday 26th June

Coming from Canterbury, but I would need to stay over in Mortimer at my sister's house. Need to work out whether that is possible travelling from the venue to Mortimer using the trains. National Rail website says there is a train at 22:55 from Basingstoke to Mortimer (which takes 11 minutes) and an...

Re: Elvis Solo, Basingstoke, Friday 26th June

I had a crazy idea to come over from Kent to see this show. I have a sister living in Mortimer and wondered whether I'd be able to get there using public transport okay at 11pm at night. Anyone know if this is possible?

Re: Elvis Costello 2015 Detour - UK Dates

Absolutely LOVE Elvis bringing out some fresh songs on this Detour. Alibi and Hand in Hand the other night... wow. I wish I was there! Feel happy I've had the chance to see Elvis in London over the last few years, but truly gutted he's not put on a show anywhere in London or Kent this time. I would ...

Re: Elvis Costello 2015 Detour - UK Dates

Cool. I'm taking mini VG to see Larkin Poe tomorrow so if I get a chance to speak to them I'll ask them if they're supporting for the whole tour. For some reason I thought their tour dates clashed on some dates. It looks like Larkin Poe are sticking around after Elvis's tour to play another stint o...

Re: London Meet Up - Saturday 25th April

Two people at the last meet up in November were in the middle of house renovations so there was a lot of talk about decorators and builders. Seriously though , it's great to talk about Elvis matters without having to put things in context and deal with comments like ' I loved Olivers Army....has he...

Re: London Meet Up - Saturday 25th April

What do you guys normally do at these meet ups? I must say, talking about EC with someone who actually knows what I'm talking about and is a fan too feels great. Those moments are rare though because I only come across those people at EC concerts.

Though I'm currently keeping the fire hot by hunting down the rare 2004 re-releases. I just got Almost Blue [Expanded Edition] in the post today. 27 bonus tracks!!! Yippee! And only £7. Lucky find. Fantastic - you're in for some real treats! Indeed! I also bought Goodbye Cruel World [Expanded Editi...

Re: I need an album

An album would be very nice, but more importantly...............HOW ABOUT SOME LONDON DATES ! ! ! :( I AGREE I AGREE I AGREE!!! I'm sooooo "aaahhhhh!!" about no London date announcements! Especially after EC saying at RAH he'd be back there this year. I need to know or I might die. It wou...

Re: Elvis Costello 2015 Detour - UK Dates

Has EC ever announced further dates to a tour weeks, or months, after the official announcement? I'm just wondering whether I'll have to considering having a few days off and getting a hotel somewhere in order to travel to a show or two. If this theory of this tour being away from the usual places h...

Re: Elvis Costello 2015 Detour - UK Dates

Google maps tells me I can either do: walk - train - bus - ferry - bus - train - train. Or: walk - train - bus - train - train - train. In other words, I really cannot do that. Hahaha. London has quicker and more straight forward links. When he played Canterbury last year I was reaaaally gutted I mi...

Re: Elvis Costello 2015 Detour - UK Dates

Just waiting patiently and anxiously for a London, possibly RAH, date to be announced.

Though they keep advertising 'Detour' UK leg as being a 21-date tour. Maybe this is it? Surely EC wouldn't cross out the London market. He did say himself at the Bluesfest show he'll be back there in 2015.

I wasn't expecting another solo tour so soon. Not complaining though! :)

So, hopefully, when EC said at RAH in October that he will be back there early next year, he actually meant it. Fingers crossed for some Europe dates!

Re: When was your first Elvis gig?

I'm a youngun'. Well, 24 to be precise. I only recently discovered EC's music and my first concert was at RAH in 2012. I saw him again twice in 2013 and twice this year. Obviously now I'm addicted. The sad thing is every one of these attendances I've gone to alone. I don't know anybody that loves EC...

For UK people, the show is now on BBC Iplayer for a brief period. Going to have a watch this weekend. 2am was a ridiculous time to broadcast it, even if it was a repeat.

Wow. Jealousy.

What are the chances of this happening in the UK? They seem to be in the US promoting it a lot at the moment. Any chance they will over this side of the pond too? I'd LOVE to see a show like that.

Am I the only one who LIKES Elvis Costello when he is raw and not sounding like some over rehearsed, manufactured jukebox? I really loved the show regardless of the "flaws". I like the flaws. Elvis has plenty of those and without them he wouldn't have been able to write and perform all the...

RAH is so gorgeous! Georgie Fame was brilliant! Elvis was brilliant! Loved the new arrangements of Chelsea and The Comedians. And the unexpected Couldn't Call It Unexpected without the mics at the end was a nice touch. It's good seeing so many people sing along to a Mighty Like A Rose song! I attend...

RAH's official website still have a few seats left. DO IT DO IT DO IT. One of us! One of us! :P

I'm leaving work for London shortly. I cannot wait. Walking to RAH in the peeing rain won't be much fun, though. I wonder if there will be any merch - not that I need another EC t-shirt!
