Re: New TV show: "Spectacle: Elvis Costello with ..."

Just saw the Clinton episode. Interesting conversation but why didn't he play the sax. He has done it before and could have held his own on a tune. Maybe he didn't think he would be good enough.

Re: New TV show: "Spectacle: Elvis Costello with ..."

It is strange the episodes in the US are being shown in a different order than the UK. I guess they are showing what they think will work. We got Elton, Lou Reed and tonight Bill Clinton. I found Lou Reed alittle hard to follow and I agree the drunken play write could have stayed in the audience. So...

Re: Southside Johnny/Steve Forbert

Just saw Leon Russell with Southside Johnny at the Keswick in Philadelphia. Great show by both. Bobby gave me more than a pick (just kidding) A show well worth going to if it comes to your area.

Re: Bizarre Costello impersonation in modern day video

Back to the good old days when MTV showed music videos. Each one trying to be more bizarre than the last. Of course I would try to figure out what the video would have to do with the song and get a headache. Than the only choice was to go out dirnking and dancing or go to bed.

I was at the Elvis Green Day show. It was the VH1 show at Atlantic City with Fionna Apple and Death Cab for Cutie. Green Day was impressive with Elvis.

Re: EC & Jenny Lewis on David Letterman Nov. 3 '08

Fortunately I taped it so I could fast forward through Paris. Nice performance but I was alittle disappointed in Elvis's interview. It seemed like David was trying to engage him in conversation about Clinton and Elvis just wanted to mention all the guests. Still worth watching.

Re: Elvis playing Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Oct. 5 '08

Elvis is always doing something. You never know where he is going to pop up. He works very hard and as anyone who works long hard hours knows, you can lose your cool. It does look like he has help with the twins as I saw in the pictures each one had a nanny. He probable should slow down a little and...

Some of the best shows I have been to were Elvis (of course), Springsteen, Elton John and a local band I used to like The Sharks. The later was probable more a stage of life thing.
