This Years Model was Elvis' second. Up to then, all I knew was My Aim Is True. I loved it, but it gave no warning of what was to come. When I first played TYM, I didn't hear what I expected at all, but I knew this was gonna be an important album for me. The BITE was ferocious. Nothing like what I'd ...

I go with You Turned To Me. For me, it's kind of a turning point in the album. Woke up with it in my head this morning and gave a listen. It's quite pretty, actually.

Here's hoping we never have to hear a breakup album.

Always loved PTC, except maybe Everyday. It seemed sometimes that songs that weren't my favorite, made it to video. Everyday I Write the Book was one of them. On the other hand, the horns blasting out on Let Them Talk, especially that moment in the song, where it's chaotic with the horns and Elvis' ...

I've requested Motel Matches. Don't think I've ever seen him do it live. Would love to hear how he'd sing it, these days.

Just thinking that it was one week ago tonight ... Will I ever top that evening? I doubt it. (edit: Sure I will. When I have dinner with Elvis...

Whoa! It's kinda big. Feeling exposed.

Nice shot of Elvis, though.

Thanks for the work, Taz.

You'll all excuse me please, while I hide for a bit.

It's true Otis. I've been on an Elvis binge for over 20 years now. I love lots of other music, but something about Elvis' music has always hit me where I live. And I have to have some every day. Glad you (and everyone who commented) enjoyed the telling of my evening last Wednesday. I won't soon forg...

My night at the Hummingbird

I saw Elvis the other night in Toronto at the Hummingbird Center. He was, as accurately reported most places that I’ve seen, amazing. Here’s some detail about the reported comment that he made saying 'we don't do requests'. After about the fourth or fifth song, some of the more exuberant fans were s...
