"South" ???

I'm sure almost everybody on this board is getting pretty excited about the new EC&I recording now in progress and due out in the autumn. Here's some food for thought and fuel for the fires of anticipation. This new album is being recorded in at least 3 different studios with a different produce...

I agree with the concensus! I had a tape of Blood&Chocolate a good month before it's release. Of course I bought the official CD (and vinyl!) but they just got put on the shelf! I had worn the album out before its' release!

Davey also co-produced Hiatt's Little Head album.

Bruce was a flashier bass playey but Davey has a better command of timing. Bruce tended to play on his own during a song, almost isolated from the rest of the band at times. Davey is stronger at being part of the band unit, IMHO.

Sorry to hear you couldn't score tickets, Dr. and Mrs. Spooky!

Has anyone on the board managed to get tickets to these shows? I sure hope at least one of the faithful will be able to supply an in-depth report of these one-of-a-kind gigs!

This is pretty exciting news! I rescind my April Fools comments! I guess you can expect a bunch of new songs as it looks like EC and the Imposters are going to make good on their "South" album concept. Wonder if all of the "Delivery Man" songs played during the recent EC/Nieve to...

That Day is Done remains one of my all time fave EC tunes. This story of a ghost visiting his own funeral still sends chills down my spine when I can get a quiet moment to really listen to it. EC's rendition of the song with the Fairfield Four is fantastic!

Wow! I was pretty blown away listening to her rendition of Almost Blue. Diana is a great singer and fantastic pianist but I've not always been that excited about some of her material in the past. Can't wait to hear more of the new album now that she has some really great songs to wrap her voice arou...

MS, I think Vonnegut did have a word for it but it's been 20+ years since I've read KV and my memory (or what's left of it) isn't up to it today. Still remember the GP show pretty vividly, though!

MS, I bought my copy of STM as a cut-out (!) a couple of months after it's release in a tiny record store in my hometown of Chattanooga. A few months later, after the release of Squeezing Out Sparks, I was lucky enough to see Graham and the Rumur open for Journey (!!!) in Louisville, KY. Got to meet...

I vividly remember some reviews of ARMED FORCES in 1979 that claimed Elvis had matured beyond the angry young man stance. I guess compared to the previous year. . . When he is 75 and recording his 38th studio recording, critics will hail how much he has "matured" since the angry old days o...

IMHO, KOA stands outside of time and doesn't sound dated at all. It's sound (the legendary sessions players combined with a clean and dry production sound) really doesn't harken to any time period. BAC has a sound that was unique at the time but has since come to be the blueprint for many "live...

While all of the liner notes in the series have been fantastic, for me the Get Happy notes were the most enlightening and heartbreaking account of the Columbus, Ohio fiasco and portrayed the tone of the making of the album and the last days of the crash-and-burn final days of the "pop stardom&q...
