Re: Elvis and The Imposters, Bristol , July 17 2016

So looking forward to this and not that long to wait after the Palladium. I would have thought that Almost Blue, King of America, Delivery Man, Sugercane and Ransom albums may feature quite heavily for this show, along with some reworkings, perhaps?

Re: 2014 Wednesday Oct 29th LONDON, ENGLAND, Royal Albert Ha

I'm reminded about when I paid £70 for the terrible Tower of London show in 2007 with Allen Toussaint. [shudders] Worst venue for a concert I've ever been at. More atmosphere on the moon. Would have loved to have seen the same show at somewhere like SBE, as I thought it was a good show from the mus...

Re: 2014 Wednesday Oct 29th LONDON, ENGLAND, Royal Albert Ha

The ticket prices range from £20 to £125! I'll go but not at the top seat prices. Best keep to the best you can afford in the "Arena" or "stalls" area. I've bought cheaper tickets for both The Who and Al Green at RAH and although both acts put on great shows, the experience in t...

Re: 2014 Wednesday Oct 29th LONDON, ENGLAND, Royal Albert Ha

Those top prices are taking the pish. No way will I ever pay that. Cheaper to fly up to Edinburgh from Bristol for the Usher Hall gig, than train & ticket for London. I reckon if EC was to include RAH as part of a tour and not as Blues Fest, the top price would be around £75.00. They done the sa...

Re: 40 DAYS OF ELVIS COSTELLO: A Countdown To WISE UP GHOST

My gripe is that the most important thing in it - the CD - would keep getting glue on it had I not shoved another piece of paper in to protect it. Little Fool has had the same problem. The book bit is quite smart, just not value for money. I do agree about the large font - that's most welcome!! Prob...

Re: 40 DAYS OF ELVIS COSTELLO: A Countdown To WISE UP GHOST

Feel well and truly ripped off with Deluxe Edition. The price difference (double the standard version) cannot be justified for the lyrics, a short essay housed in pathetic packaging that leaves glue on the CD. Glad that I bought it for the extra music, but £20 for a single CD? Photocopied the cd and...

Re: 40 DAYS OF ELVIS COSTELLO: A Countdown To WISE UP GHOST

Got the 'deluxe' edition on CD today and really looking forward to listening. The back page of the packaging/cover has a diagonal slot which holds the disc but unfortunately the glue used to assemble the package was all over the disc so had to spend 10 minutes cleaning gum off the disc before I cou...

Centre Row H at Colston Hall was the best I could get, despite the seating plan showing plenty available in rows A - E. Annoyingly a "Not available at this time" message came up when I tried to book them. After using Seetickets last time to pre-book and waiting til the week before the gig ...

Revolver UK Tour - Tickets not yet received

Tickets go on sale today which is payday - result! Just scored Colston Hall H12 from See Tickets - no need to wait until 3pm. £49.91 for a £42.50 ticket. Pity RAH is next day, but may do Basingstoke if it doesn't sell out by November payday.

Re: Spectacle Season 2 Release Date - 7 December 2010

Spectacle 2 surely would be an ideal programme for the Friday evening BBC4 music slot as a contrast to the current offerings such Gordon Lightfoot In Concert from 197? Let's all get emailing the BBC. FFS they don't make it easy to contact them - if anyone can work out how we can contact BBC4 with th...

Arrived this morning. In a very nice digipack, too. As I had the download anyway, waiting wasn't too much of an issue, but would have been p!$$ed off if I had had to wait this long from ordering without the download. Anyway, It's a very nice digipack, which I haven't seen in the stores, so happy abo...

Re: National Ransom - New Album Due Nov. 2

On first listen to the download, I'm loving it - a lot more immediate than Sugercane. The missus isn't a huge fan of EC but she says she's enjoying this album as well. With the ep it all fits nicely on to a cd at 76 mins.

If the 27th is a London date, I'm still hoping against hope that it's just coincidence that it's the same day as McCartney and it's a proper Sugercanes gig - nothing on at Shepherds Bush that night!

Re: EC to release Secret, Profane and Sugarcane

On second listen today and finding it all a bit dreary. I love bluegrass and it's usually a very spiritually uplifting type of music for me, but this is quite disappointing. Apart from the title track, these great bluegrass players don't sound to me as if they're having a very good time. Finding Eel...
