Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .
I've just seen Ode to Joy on Netflix with Martin Freeman. It was a delight when Jackson Monk and Rowe played as part of the soundtrack. What a song!

Re: Do you have a favorite EC concert?
I was sharing some memories with another forum member about the gig at Hemel Hempstead Pavilion 40 years ago tonight. It was only my 3rd Elvis gig after seeing two lacklustre performances in Birmingham, one only days earlier where he had gone through the motions, one encore and off. Now more than 70...

How about this from today's Guardian/Observer. Maybe, Alan Johnson, some things are better ignored!

Hard to know if it’s romantic or creepy, or just both, like the song.

I can't find mention of it here but I've just watched The Trip with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, series 3 (in Spain) episode 2. Brydon sings 'Toldeo" in a Costello-like way and Coogan gives 'Oliver's Army' a blast - neither very good but great fun.

Freakonomics interview with Stephen Dubner 27th October 2018
I came across this discussion on creativity. Revealing whilst also remaining opaque. Very Elvis.

Mine arrived today safe and sound. Any idea why he likes the 10 inch format recently? Is this a sonic, technical or aesthetic decision?

Re: 'Bright Blue Times' - vinyl single - 500 on sale at latest shows, June 2017
This is 1983 all over again but then it was Pills & Soap. The general election in the UK was underway. There were stories of limited numbers being available in red vinyl should Labour win the election. Look out how that turned out! Maybe he's predicting the result ahead of time. 500 copies!! Thi...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Henley, 7 July 2016
In the interest of accuracy, 'She' was solo on acoustic guitar and not piano. Just to add some flavour. The festival set up was quite magical with actors in costumes parading around the walkway areas and everyone promenading in their finest. The tents were of high quality, not to mention the toilets...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Henley, 7 July 2016
What a remarkable gig that was so entertaining. Elvis played with energy and drive as if his life depended in it. Seeing the make up if the audience I was unsure if this was going to work but guess what, the crowd were up for it, lubricated by some expensive bubbly. He launched into 'hits' and they ...

Re: Elvis solo, London (UK), May 2016
On the theme of Eurovision. Maybe Elvis should throw in a tribute to the song contest of all song contests on the 14th. I suggest 'Waterloo' sung to the tune and in the manner of 'I Want You'. It might just work.

Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Henley, 7 July 2016
Just to say that I'll be doing what I can to get a ticket for Henley. Only 30 mins from my front door and he's unlikely to play a gig closer. The black tie thing goes against my principles of a dress code but for him, I'll waive my objection. Songs such as 'Black Tie in the Sunset' and 'Down Among t...

Re: Guardian interview , 17 Oct. '15
It's worth going on to read the comments that readers leave about the article and EC in general. There is plenty of support across the range of his career but sometimes his critics refer to personal comments, like his tone of voice or to absurdities that that his songs lack "heart and soul"...

I don't like mysteries when it comes to EC releases so, can anyone tell me what the neon orange and blue CD sleeve contains, in front of TYM? Not something I've come across before. Thanks.

Re: Elvis Solo, Basingstoke, Friday 26th June
Maybe it is no surprise that the theme of leavings, endings and sadness in the songs he chose, should be so prominent on the last night of a tour. However as his career continues this becomes more poignant with each year passing and we all get a year older. A terrific show that he put a lot in to (y...

Great interview and performance. The "breaking" in his voice when speaking of not being able to sing his songs for his father was very moving.
