Re: New Elvis song in "Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool"

So what's the film like? I pretty much agree with The Guardian's assessment : https://www.theguardian.com/film/2017/sep/02/film-stars-dont-die-in-liverpool-review-jamie-bell-annette-bening-gloria-grahame Although I'd give it 6 out of 5 for the end-to-end Liverpool footage and Scouse accents, plus th...

Re: New Elvis song in "Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool"

The film's UK release seems to be 17th November.

There's a preview show at Liverpool's Picturehouse at FACT on Monday 13th, with a Q+A to follow.

I assume that the Q+A will not include our man, but he does have the date free.......

Re: Glasgow 13 October 1977

1) Did any of the Not For Trade shows ever show up ? There are quite a few shows apparently recorded that never appeared such as Eric's Liverpool 2 Aug 1977, Really hope someone is able to locate this, perhaps with connections to Granada TV at the time? Even less likely, but even more of interest t...

Santa's got this in his sack for me Chrimbo prezzie! Looks like it was a bidding war between North and South of the Mersey, sorry Oliversa. In his tweet Elvis mentioned Mary McCartney. This made me think about this thread: http://www.elviscostellofans.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10986 Were they filming the Elvis song? That's brilliant detective work - have you been "watching" - very likely that the Elvis song/s ...

Listening to Radio 5 Live's coverage of the closing minutes of the Premier League's transfer window (7 minutes to go as I type this) Phil McNulty, BBC's Chief Sports Writer announces that Ross Barkley has backed out of a move to Stanford Bridge (despite having agreed a fee and personal terms) with t...

Re: Elvis plays Manchester Bridgewater Hall 19th March 2017

Apologies for being tardy to the party. Great show, varied setlist, loads of new (to me) songs, particularly "This Uneasy Hour" making it's UK debut, "She" with Ena Sharples as backdrop*, Scouser baiting the Mancs from the stage, touching tribute to Chuck which includes use of wh...

Seems like we're aiming to meet at the Britons Protection real ale pub across the road from the venue beforehand ! Great, terrific boozer, despite the unappealing name in these B****t times, think I owe Bradwell a pint from last time he played at BWH, and the Boy got "3 Sons" sung via a b...

Being entirely optimistic here but there's a gap in the middle around Elvis's Mum's birthday ( end of June if I'm not mistaken) so lots of possible UK dates available ??!! June 24th or so until July 12 ( have a few days off on me boys !!)  Lets hope so ! :P Bring it on ! Joining you i...

2 tickets available for Sheffield 20/3/17 - perhaps the very final Detour show ever?

Find I know someone who can't go to this show now. She tells me that she has 2 tickets going at face value £43.50 each, good seats in the circle. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Could you run that through Google Translate please? Sound in Liverpool in July for the Imposters show was 'muffled', although my seat location, front row by Davey, could have been the cause.

Re: EC nominated for Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album

Go Elvis indeed! However I admit I find his 'reading voice' a bit stilted, and then came to wonder which professional voice could have been hired instead. Think it requires the ability to inject some Scouse into the delivery, unless reading bits covering 1977/78 when stealth recordings indicate he h...

SP I did the same. Appreciate this is heresy to some correspondents, but IB wasn't one of my real favourite albums. Obviously some top, top songs and as you might predict I'd place MooT and Beyond as amongst his very best. However others felt a bit indulgent. So it was very enjoyable to revisit the ...
