Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

They look great. I hope you don’t get any letters from Elvis’ people for any potential copyright breaches though. I don't think Elvis' people were directly involved in this. It's more 'fan art' I would say so should be in the public domain. I've ordered one of the prints from the artist so he is ge...

There was no support.
No football was shown.
That meant that we were home before midnight! :)

Thanks

I picked the right night as I couldn't have stood there knowing the England game was on :D

Re: Elvis and The Imposters, Antwerp (Belgium), July 3, 2018

Just out of curiosity, what time did it start and finish? Was there a support? I assume they didn't show the football first on the second night? Another thing was the merchandise seemed very well priced. Tour tee shirt €20, signed tour poster €10 and mug €5. Was it a clear out sale? What were the pr...

Re: Elvis and The Imposters, Antwerp (Belgium), July 2 , 2018

A beautiful setting but slightly surreal build up to the show No one expected Japan to take the lead never mind go two up. I think I was the only one cheering Japan’s goals but I was also thinking Elvis would have to play the gig of his like to lift the crowd Belgium duly fought back and scored a la...

I'm going on the Monday so it's Belgium v Japan thats being shown.

I'll be back home for the England v Colombia game. I don't think the Belgians will be too bothered about showing that before Elvis takes the stage on the Tuesday night :D

Re: Elvis and The Imposters, Antwerp (Belgium), July 2 & 3, 2018

Just got this email from the promoters (thanks to Google translate) I might wear my England top :D Best The match against England has finally been played. On Monday, July 2, our Red Devils will play against Japan. Out of respect for Elvis Costello and for the concert to take place in optimal conditi...

Now, to me, this looks a shit day out waiting for Elvis to headline. Would much rather go to Blenheim, but I can’t, so maybe I’ll just stick to Antwerp

Quite disappointed with the UK dates so far

Ticket purchased for the 2nd

Looks a nice venue, if it doesn’t rain, and good value too. Add in travel and hotel costs then a bit more expensive but we’ll make it a mini road trip

Re: Elvis and The Imposters, Nocturne - Oxfordshire (UK), June 16, 2018

Despite living only an hour away this is no good to me as I’m working away and not due back in the UK until the following week.

That is Oxford and Manchester ruled out for me so Antwerp it is. Tickets purchased and they are relatively cheap at only €48
At least I’ll get one Elvis fix this year

DeathWearsA Big Hat wrote Weller's solo stuff doesn't do much for me but I was a huge Style Council fan. So you were the one !! I know Weller faced tremendous media backlash for breaking up The Jam and I personally never felt like The Style Council matched the Jam on so many levels but it seemed so...

On yesterday's BBC2 panel quiz, Richard Osman's House of Games, the final round is Answer Smash where the answer is a mash up of the name in the object/person in photo and answer to question on screen. The Photo was of Elvis and the question was "Which fictional hero had a sidekick called Tonto...

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, John - did he have to go to A&E to get them removed? How did it happen? Did he accidentally miss the vase?

Would make for an interesting conversation at A&E :D

Re: Your first meeting with Elvis

I can't resist adding to this. My first time seeing Elvis was on the Stiff Tour at Leicester University in 1978. We didn't have tickets as it sold out quickly but we hatched the great idea of going to the venue early and going to the students bar and hanging out long enough to be already inside the ...

Re: Elvis plays Sheffield 20 March 2017

I thought last night was a fitting end to the tour. It has developed over the two years and the extra outing this year seems to have reinvigorated Elvis. His voice has held up well and he seemed in great spirits. I loved the Chuck Berry tribute and heartfelt tribute to the NHS Afterwards there were ...

I've decided to go tonight. All a bit last minute, just bought a ticket from the box office, front row of the balcony to print at home. If I leave in the next 30 minutes I'll be in Sheffield by 6pm depending on traffic and weather. If Elvis isn't decided on bringing Imperial Bedroom to the UK it mig...

I didn't take many photos at the show in Bruges because of the spot light restricting the view. Re: Elvis Detour, Bruges (Belgium), March 16, 2017

Fabulous gig in a wonderfully ornate venue. A bit like a smaller Royal Albert Hall. Unfortunately I was on front row the 4th level and had a bit of a lighting gantry attached in front with a spot light blocking the middle of the stage. I could only see the rim of Elvis' hat when he was at the centra...
