Ric Burns' Andy Warhol Documentary on PBS

Has this already been discussed in here? Anyone have any thoughts on it? I really dug the first half, as it really highlighted all his commercial work which I feel is absolutely brilliant.. The second half was a bust though, and I felt Laurie Anderson's grating voice really took away from the whole ...

Jeffrey is definitely the biggest asshole they've ever had on the show, and all his designs have been complete shit. He's a bad Vivienne Westwood rip-off, and he's hard to look at with his non-chin, and tree trunk tatooed neck. He's a mean spirited little shit and I hope he gets his ass thrown off. ...

a lot of great choices.. I would say Springsteen's 1st 4 would be the closest to rival EC's.. I agree about Dylan's 1st album being a fine little folk album, but not anything astounding.. Dylan became DYLAN with freewheelin'... Was watching the documentary on him the other day, and it seemed like he...

First four albums...

In my opinion, Elvis's first 4 albums are the best first 4 by any rock and roll artist... What do you think? Does anyone else have as good a first 4 as My aim is true This year's model Armed Forces Get happy! I'm talking about the album as a whole cohesive statement.. We all know that Dylan and the ...

I have to say I've never thought of "I Want You" as a break-up song. It's an obsession song that's great precisely because it totters on the edge of creepy. Another obsession song, one that goes over that edge, is Steve Earle's deceptively creepy "More Than I Can Do". It's a rea...

Hey.. Christie Brinkley's husband cheated on her, and for some reason it's been headline news in NYC for the past month.. I mean CHRISTIE BRINKLEY!!.. She's about as relevant as a loaf of bread from 1986... I think Mel Gibson going on an anti-semitic tirade is at least just as newsworthy as that..

I agree.. This rush to forgiveness is offensive. If Mel Gibson had gone on a tirade about any other minority, the outrage would be deafening, and there certainly wouldn't be the whole, 'well he was drunk, let's give him a break' attitude.. Here is a man who has been long suspected of anti-semitism, ...

Pretty interesting Diana Krall article.

Good stuff.. Although I think Springsteens best break up songs reside on 'Tunnel of love'...

Speaking of 'I want you', I have to admit Fiona Apple did a pretty great rendition..

Best break-up song??

From Rollingstone... I think you could take your pick off of Blood and chocolate... Personally I think 'I Want You' might have the edge over 'I hope you're happy now'... There’s never a bad time for a good breakup song. If you’ve just broken up you can heal yourself via shared pain. If you are i...
