If Colletti deals Kemp and we have to endure another season of Pierre playing regularly I'm going to shoot myself. Pierre is a nice guy and all, but he's just an awful player. Bad hit, bad glove.......great combination. An outfield of Ethier, Jones and Kemp could be very good. I'm not convinced that...

Mr. Average........my oldest son and I spent a couple hours at Amoeba yesterday. Could have spent a few more hours there! Drove by Mel's Drive-In on our way to Pizzeria Mozza for an incredible lunch. The Mel's parking lot is where guitarist Rod Poole was killed a few weeks ago. Very sad.

It's been over three weeks since I received two superb discs from Blue Chair. The diversity of the artists involved - both the original artists and the cover artists - made for a tasty listening treat. While I own a number of the original songs, I don't believe I'd ever heard any of the covers. Ther...

I think he scored a few crackers. he was a great player, but is chiefly remembered for his stunning miss in the, um, 1990 (? - it's 2am, memory not great!) World Cup final. Sent it miles over the bar. USA '94 Otis! Lay off the Christmas tipple! I was sitting directly behind the goal where th...

RIP. A friend and I went to see James Brown in 1981 at the Hammersmit Odeon. We really went on a lark......we didn't know much of his music other than a few hits; he was more of an icon to us at the time. The other Americans we were living with that fall ridiculed us for going; it wasn't a "hip...

Congratulations Mr. Average. My step mother is a proud OSU alum, and I can assure you that she is more proud of the band than the football team. Having grown up a UCLA fan in L.A. in the 60's and 70's I spent spent several New Year's days rooting for the Buckeyes against USC. The best Rose Bowl I've...

Dodgers are spending money like a drunken sailor on shore leave - now they've signed Jason Schmidt from the Gnats. And there's talk about a Manny-to-LA trade with some prospects and maybe Brad Penny going the other way. If Penny stays, we will have baseball's porkiest pitching staff. I can't imagin...

I like the Schmidt deal, assuming it comes to fruition. There are rumors that the Cardinals are making a late run at Schmidt. The Pierre deal, on the other hand, is one of the most idiotic things i've ever seen. Why would anyone sign him to a five year deal at $9M/year. The Dodgers will be regrettin...
